La torre de homenaje de Cambados o torre-mirador, es un edificio datado en el siglo XVI, es un edificio de planta cuadrada, de sillería en las esquinas con sillarejo en los muros, con una bonita barandilla. No te pierdas la inscripción “Conócete a ti mismo…”

The tower of homage of Cambados or watchtower, is a building dated in the 16 th century, it is a building with a square floor plan, with ashlar masonry in the corners, with rubblework masonry in the walls, with a nice railing. Don`t forget to see the inscription “Known yourself...”

IGLESIA S. BENITO (CAMBADOS)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de San Benito de Cambados en origen era románica pero sufrió una fuerte reforma en los siglos XV y XVI, se construyó con buena sillería, tiene elementos góticos (interior de la iglesia), neoclásicos y barrocos (campanarios laterales).

S. BENITO CHURCH (CAMBADOS)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The church of San Benito de Cambados was originally Romanesque but underwent a important renovation in the 15 th and 16 th centuries, it was built with good ashlar masonry, it has Gothic elements (inside of the church), neoclassical and baroque (side bell towers).

PAZO FEFIÑANS (CAMBADOS)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La Pazo Fefiñáns de Cambados es un complejo con elementos barrocos y renacentistas, dispone de una planta en forma de “L”, destacando la heráldica, los expertos consideran el pazo una autentica joya de la arquitectura civil de esta época.

Fefiñáns palace of Cambados is a complex with Baroque and Renaissance elements, it has an “L” shaped floor, highlighting the heraldry, the experts consider the pazo an authentic jewel of the civil architecture of this era.

La iglesia de San Francisco de Cambados, es un edificio del siglo XVI, construido por orden de Juan Daval, es un edificio de sillería, con fachada repleta de cruces, santos, molduras y heráldica; justo en un lado tenemos la torre con un reloj. El edificio ha sido convento, cuartel, escuela y cárcel.

The church of San Francisco de Cambados, is a building of 16 th century, built by order of Juan Daval, it is masonry building, with a facade full of crosses, saints, molding and heraldry; just in the side we have the tower with a clock. The building has been a convent, barracks, school and jail.

PAZO DE ULLOA (CAMBADOS)

El Pazo de Ulloa de Cambados, es uno de los pazos más famosos de Galicia, el edificio se data en el siglo XV, es de sillería de granito, siendo fuertemente restaurado en el siglo XVIII, los escudos de la fachada son de esta época.

The Pazo de Ulloa of Cambados, is one the most famous palaces in Galicia, the building dates back to the 15 th century, it is made of granite masonry, being strongly restored in the 18 th century, the coat of arms of the façade date from this period.

La iglesia de Santa Mariña Dozo, de Cambados es un conjunto de ruinas, sobre una capilla románica del siglo XII, se construyó una iglesia gótica de la que se conservan los arcos desnudos, sin la cubrición; con un aire sin duda, romántico.

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

El mejor acceso es desde la AP-9 (peaje) (tramo de Pontevedra a Santiago de Compostela), cogiendo la AG-1, saliéndose en la salida 9 que va a Cambados.

The best access is from AP-9 (toll) (section from Pontevedra to Santiago de Compostela), taking the AG-1, leaving at exit 9 that goes to Cambados.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS:

CAMBADOS: Con silla de ruedas el acceso es factible al Pazo de Fefiñáns; pero no es factible a la iglesia de San Benito (escaleras), a la torre de homenaje (escaleras), a la iglesia de Santa Mariña (escalones); mientras el acceso a San Francisco es por una rampa adaptada, con puerta de doble hoja cada una de 83 cm.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

CAMBADOS: With a wheelchair access is feasible to Fefiñáns palace; but is not feasible to the church of San Benito (stairs), to the tower of homage (stairs), to the church of Santa Mariña (steps); while the access to San Francisco is by an adapted ramp, with a double-leaf door each of 83 cm. (2.72 ft).
