Calahorra: Monumentos y turismo


		CALAHORRA es una ciudad, muy próxima al río Cidacos y a varios kilómetros del río Ebro. Calahorra tiene restos paleolíticos, celtibéricos y romanos, fue bautizada por Roma como Calagurris y aquí nació Quintiliano (gran orador romano). El clima semidesértico permite que se desarrollen cultivos de secano (vid, olivo, cereales), pero también hay regadío (pimiento, alcachofa y espárrago). Calahorra tiene un gran número de monumentos, también tiene varios museos.		CALAHORRA: It is a city, very close to the Cidacos River and several kilometres from the Ebro River. Calahorra has Palaeolithic, Celtiberian and Roman remains, it was baptized by Rome as *Calagurris* and Quintilian (great Roman orator) was born here. The semi-desert climate allows dry lands to be developed (vines, olive trees, cereals), but there is also irrigation (pepper, artichoke and asparagus). Calahorra has a large number of monuments, it also has several museums.


		CALAHORRA: Calahorra se ubica entre Logroño y Zaragoza (AP-68 y N-232). Por Logroño y Zaragoza se puede acceder fácilmente por la N-232 o por la AP-68 (salida 15). Podemos acceder desde Pamplona (A-12 y NA-122). También se accede desde Soria (N-111 y N-232). ALFARO: Alfaro se encuentra en la nacional N-232 (Zaragoza-Logroño), el yacimiento se encuentra en la Avenida Zaragoza, que cruza toda la población, justo en la zona del puente, junto al río. CALAHORRA: Calahorra is located between Logroño and Zaragoza (AP-68 and N-232). By Logroño and Zaragoza we can access easily by the N-232 or by the AP-28 (exit 15). We can access from Pamplona (A-12 and NA-122). Also is possible from Soria (N-111 and N-232). ALFARO: Alfaro is located on the N-232 (Zaragoza-Logroño), the site is located on Zaragoza Avenue, which crosses the whole town, right in the area of the bridge and next to the river is the *nympheus*. 		CALAHORRA: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay un parking junto al rio Cidacos (P1). El aparcamiento es gratuito. La ubicación del aparcamiento recomendado es muy cercana. Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos.		CALAHORRA: In the locality of Calahorra there is little parking, it is not recommended to enter too far. There is a parking, next the Cidacos (P1). Parking is free. The location of the recommended car park is very next. 		CALAHORRA: Los monumentos se ubican en el centro histórico (ver mapa Vernur). Aquí podemos ver algunos monumentos: (catedral, museo de la Romanización, casa de los Deanes, la iglesia de la Santa Cruz, la iglesia de Santiago y la iglesia de San Andrés). La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 600 m. La visita se desarrolla por un espacio plano y zonas con cuestas. Vernur recomienda que no olvides llevar calzado cómodo y confortable, ropa acorde al clima, un buen sombrero y no olvides hidratarte.		CALAHORRA: The monuments are located in the historic centre (Look Vernur map). Here we can see some monuments: (cathedral, museum of Romanization, house of Deanes, the church of Santa Cruz, the church of Santiago and the church of San Andres). The maximum distance at the ends of this visit are 600 m. The visit takes place through a space flat with sloped areas. 		CALAHORRA: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de cemento y piedra). Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona de cuestas. No hay bordillos en las aceras (área monumental). Para el usuario de silla de ruedas hay que considerar: Acceso factible a algunos monumentos (arco romano, catedral, monasterio de San José, Palacio Episcopal, San Andrés y Santiago), otros están cerrados (Casa Deanes). ALFARO: Terreno inmediato no esta acondicionado para sillas de ruedas. La tecnología de las sillas de ruedas ha avanzado mucho, cada vez más ligeras, hay modelos plegables, con todo tipo de adaptaciones, trata de conseguir una moderna, incluso hay ciudades donde se pueden alquilar, contacta con nosotros para añadir información. 		CALAHORRA: Si solo quieres parar y comer en un merendero tienes el Apeadero Rio Livillos, en la LR-282. Más bonita es la cercana Fuente Caricente, pero el acceso es más complicado. No nos cansamos de recordar que uses calzado cómodo, ropa adaptada al clima, un buen sombrero y una mochila ligera de peso, con agua para hidratarte. El Arco romano de Calahorra forma parte del recinto amurallado con el que contó la antigua Calagurris, la muralla se data en el siglo III d.C.; solo tenemos esta puerta llamada Puerta del Planillo, era la puerta oriental que conducía a Zaragoza.

The Roman arch of Calahorra is part of the walled enclosure with which the ancient Calagurris was counted, the wall dates back to the 3th century A.D.; we only have this door called Puerta del Planillo, it was the eastern door that led to Zaragoza.

En el interior domina el estilo barroco, son muy interesantes las capillas barrocas ubicadas entre los contrafuertes; finalmente la torre es del siglo XVIII.
