INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Real Fuerte de la Concepción, data de (1663-1664) erigido para intentar reconquistar Portugal, tiene patio cuadrado, baluartes pentagonales, fosos etc…; en (1730-1735) se realizaron más obras, pero en la Guerra de la Independencia fue volado y abandonado, restaurado en (2006-2012), hoy es un hotel.

Se ubica muy cerca de Ciudad Rodrigo y Fuentes de Oñoro. Justo entre el pueblo y la frontera portuguesa.

The Real Fuerte de la Concepción, was built in (1663-1664) to try to reconquer Portugal, has a square courtyard, pentagonal bastions, pits etc ...; in (1730-1735) more works were made, but in the War of Independence was blown up, and abandoned until the restoration of (2006-2012), today it is a hotel.

CAÑÓN DE SIEGA VERDE (VILLAR DE ARGAÑÁN)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El yacimiento tiene catalogados unos 94 paneles con más de 600 figuras de animales, que se extienden por una extensión de unos 3 kilómetros; predominando sobre todo los cérvidos, bóvidos y caballos.

Los especialistas datan las figuras en el periodo del Paleolítico Superior (Gravetiense - Magdaleniense); entre 20.000 y 11.000 a.C.

Las figuras se hicieron con 2 técnicas, el piqueteado y la incisión.

GORGE OF SIEGA VERDE (VILLAR DE ARGAÑÁN)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The site has cataloged some 94 panels with more than 600 figures of animals, which extend for an extension of about 3 Km. (1,8 miles); predominantly the cervids, bovids and horses.

The specialists date the figures in the Upper Paleolithic phase (Gravettian - Magdalenian). Approximately between 20,000 and 11,000 BC.

The figures were made with 2 techniques, the picket and the incision.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

La entrada general es de 6,50 € y la reducida es de 4,50 € (solo para los grupos y personas establecidas), es recomendable reservar la visita, pues los grabados son visitados en grupos de unas 12 personas. Los horarios cambian con mucha frecuencia, pero las visitas suelen hacerse habitualmente a las 11:00, 12:30 y 14:00 y por la tarde a las 15:30, 16:00 y 17:30, visite la página web www.siegaverde.es/index.php para conocer los horarios con exactitud. ACCESO

El yacimiento de Siega Verde esta al NW de Ciudad Rodrigo, se ubica en el río Águeda. Para acceder al yacimiento hay que ir al puente sobre el río Águeda ubicado entre los municipios de Villar de la Yegua y Castillejo de Martín Viejo. Patrimonio Mundial (2010) por la UNESCO.

The general rate is € 6,50 and the reduced rate is € 4,50 (only for groups and some persons), it is advisable to reserve the visit, as the engravings are visited in groups of about 12 people. LOCATION

The site of Siega Verde to the NW of Ciudad Rodrigo is located on the Agueda river. To access the site you have to go to the bridge over the river Agueda located between the towns of Villar de la Yegua and Castillejo de Martín Viejo. It is World Heritage since (2010) by UNESCO.

URUEÑA (FUENTEGUINALDO)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castro de Urueña (Fuenteguinaldo), tiene restos prerromanos y romanos, incluso un verraco; la muralla esta desdibujada entre la maleza, a comienzos del siglo XX se excavaron viviendas, que hoy están cubiertas de vegetación.

No hay que pagar entrada, no hay horarios.

ACCESO

Fuenteguinaldo se encuentra al sur de Ciudad Rodrigo. Se recomienda contratar un guía (Asociación en el pueblo), pues es un yacimiento grande y con mucha vegetación y puedes perderte. El yacimiento se encuentra junto al río Agueda

URUEÑA (FUENTEGUINALDO)

The hillfort of Urueña (Fuenteguinaldo), has pre-Roman and Roman remains, even a verraco (a pig), the wall is destructed among the undergrowth; at the beginning of the 20th century houses were dug, which today are covered with vegetation.

LOCATION

Fuenteguinaldo is located south of Ciudad Rodrigo. It is recommended to hire a guide (association in the town), because it is large site and with a lot of vegetation and you can lose yourself. The site is located along the Agueda River.

CASTRO DE LERILLA (ZAMARRA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Con una formidable muralla Lerilla se ubica en un enclave estratégico entre dos ríos. Solo es interesante para arqueólogos dada la alta contaminación vegetal y el deterioro del yacimiento.

No hay que pagar entrada, no hay horarios.

ACCESO

El castro de Lerilla (Zamarra), ubicado al sur de Ciudad Rodrigo, no está señalizado y es muy difícil de acceder sin indicaciones previas.

With a formidable wall Lerilla is located in a strategic site between 2 rivers. It is only interesting for Archaeologists and walkers given the high plant contamination and the high deterioration of the site.
