BASÍLICA DE SANTA TERESA - ALBA DE TORMES

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

La basílica de Santa Teresa es un templo neogótico del siglo XIX, son monumentales sus ventanales con arcos ojivales; la cubierta es de madera; el edificio no esta concluido. No hay que olvidar el convento de las Carmelitas y el convento de la Anunciación, así como las iglesias de Santiago y de San Juan.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Recuerda en los lugares religiosos se exige (no solo en este lugar) silencio, respeto, vestido decoroso, no se permite entrar con bultos y los menores deben ir acompañados en todo momento.

CASTILLO DE LOS DUQUES DE ALBA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

En Alba de Tormes se conservan los restos del antiguo castillo ducal, del que sobresale la torre de homenaje, y unos extraordinarios frescos en la Sala de la Armería (batalla de Muhlberg), hoy alberga un museo. El viejo castillo comenzó a construirse en el siglo XV y se termino en el siglo XVI, fue residencia de los famosos duques de Alba; después el guerrillero Julián Sánchez el charro, lo destruyó en la Guerra de la Independencia, fue restaurado en parte en el siglo XX.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Los horarios son todos los días de 10:00-14:00, y de febrero a mayo de 16:00-19:30, de junio a octubre de 16:00-20:00 y de noviembre a enero es de 15:30-18:30, entrada 2,50 €.

CASTLE OF THE DUQUES DE ALBA

In Alba de Tormes the remains of the old ducal castle, of which the keep tower stands out, and some extraordinary frescoes in the Armory Hall (Battle of Muhlberg), today houses a museum. ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS Algunos monumentos como la torre de homenaje del castillo ducal, no son aptos para sillas de ruedas, pero los demás no tienen grandes problemas de accesibilidad, en la basílica de Santa Teresa, la visita es exterior, por obras. 		CASTILLO DE SALVATIERRA DE TORMES INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA El castillo de Salvatierra perteneció a la Casa de Alba, se data en el siglo XV, con un recinto amurallado del siglo XIII, el pueblo tiene casas blasonadas, destacando la iglesia de la Asunción de estilo románico. ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS No hay que pagar entrada, ni horario de visita. ACCESO Para llegar a Salvatierra de Tormes desde Salamanca o Bejar hay que coger la A-66 o la N-630, si vienes por la A-66 coge la salida 387 de Guijuelo y en la primera glorieta coge la carretera de Aldeavieja de Tormes; después en Aldeavieja, cruza todo el pueblo. ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS Salvatierra tiene aceras, el usuario de ruedas puede moverse con dificultades. CASTILLO DE MONLEÓN

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Otro interesante lugar es Monleón, el pueblo se sitúa sobre un promontorio rodeado por 2 ríos y se rodea de murallas, entrando por un arco ojival. Justo a la entrada de la muralla hay un verraco. El castillo de Monleón tiene una torre de 37 metros, rematada con garitones. El castillo actual data del siglo XV, pero se edifico sobre las ruinas de otro anterior, del siglo XII.

CASTLE OF MONLEÓN

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Monléon is situated on a light promontory surrounded by 2 rivers and is surrounded by walls, entering by a Gothic arch. Just at the entrance to the wall there is a Verraco (boar). The castle has a tower of 37 meters (121 ft), topped with watchtowers. The current castle dates back to the 15 th century, but it was built over the ruins of an earlier one, from the 12 th century.

Solo es visitable el exterior, es propiedad privada.

ACCESO

Se accede desde la A-66 a la altura de Gujuelo, salida 387; al salir de la autovía, coge la carretera de Guijuelo, debes de entrar en este famoso pueblo salmantino, la travesía es larga, coge la carretera de Linares de Riofrío (sigue en todo momento esta ruta), pasaras por varios pueblos como Fuenterroble de Salvatierra, Casafranca y Endrinal, llegando a Moleón.

LOCATION
