CASTILLO (ESTEPA)

El castillo de Estepa es la antigua alcazaba árabe, los restos más antiguos se remontan al siglo X; después hay reformas almohades en el siglo XII y cristianas (siglo XIII-XVI); es un edificio de planta triangular, adaptado al terreno; está hoy muy desfigurado, solo conserva algunos muros, aljibes y lo mejor la torre de homenaje que tiene 26 m. de alto (85 ft)

CASTLE (ESTEPA)

The castle of Estepa is the old Arab citadel, the oldest remains go back to the 10 th century; later there are Almohad reforms in the 12 th century and Christian reforms (13 th -16 th century); it is a building of triangular plan, adapted to the land; today it is very desfigured; it only conserves some walls, cisterns and the best the homage tower has 26 m. high (85 ft).

SANTA MARIA (ESTEPA)

La iglesia de Santa María de Estepa, se erigió sobre una antigua mezquita islámica, fue construida por la Orden de Santiago, data de los siglos XV-XVI. El edificio es de estilo gótico, pero la torre es de estilo barroco.

SANTA MARIA (ESTEPA)

The church of Santa Maria de Estepa, was built on an old Islamic mosque,was built by the Order of Santiago, dates from the 15-16 th centuries. The building is Gothic, but the tower is Baroque.

MUSEO ARQUEOLÓGICO (ESTEPA)

El Museo Arqueológico de Estepa, conocido como Museo Padre Martín Recio, conserva una serie de colecciones de naturaleza arqueológica, que pueden datarse entre el Paleolítico y la Edad Media.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM (ESTEPA)

The Estepa Archaeological Museum, known as the Padre Martín Recio Museum, preserves a set of Archaeological collections that can be dated between the Paleolithic and the Middle Ages.

SAN FRANCISCO (ESTEPA)

El Convento de San Francisco de Estepa, es un edificio que se construyó en el siglo XVII, no obstante ha habido obras hasta el siglo XX. La fachada es un arco de medio punto con frontón partido, la torre-campanario es una estructura de ladrillo con pináculos barrocos.

SAN FRANCISCO (ESTEPA)

The convent of San Francisco de Estepa, is a building that was built in the 17 th century, however there have been works until the 20 th century. The facade is a semicircular arch with a split pediment, the bell tower is a brick structure with baroque pinnacles.

TORRE DE LA VICTORIA (ESTEPA)

La torre de la Victoria de Estepa, es una torre del siglo XVIII, tiene 40 m. de altura (131 ft), formo parte de la iglesia del Convento de la Victoria, cuya iglesia fue demolida en (1939), sus retablos fueron repartidos por diversas iglesias de la provincia.

TOWER OF LA VICTORIA (ESTEPA)

The tower of Victoria of Estepa, is a tower of the 18 th century, has 40 m. of height (131 ft), was part of the church of the Convent of Victory, whose church was demolished in (1939), its altarpieces were distributed by several churches in the province.

TORRE OCHAVADA (ESTEPA)

La Torre Ochavada es un edificio de planta octagonal, construida en el siglo XIII, en época almohade, formo parte de la propia muralla y hoy puede admirarse un pórtico de estilo neoclásico del siglo XIX, en el siglo XX fue mausoleo.

OCHAVADA TOWER (ESTEPA)

The Ochavada Tower is an octagonal building, built in the 13 th century, in the Almohad period, it is part of the wall itself and today you can admire a neo-classical portico of the 19 th century, in the 20 th century it was a mausoleum.

ACCESO A ESTEPA :

Estepa se encuentra en la A-92 (Sevilla-Granada), es recomendable el acceso por la salida 103.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS :

Con silla de ruedas la visita es exterior para las torres Ochavada y de la Victoria, el convento de San Francisco, iglesia de Santa María y el castillo; mientras para el Museo hay un pequeño escalón a la entrada.

ACCESS TO ESTEPA :

Estepa is located on the A-92 (Sevillle-Granada), it is advisable to access the exit 103.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED :

With a wheelchair, the visit is outside for the Ochavada and Victoria towers, the convent of San Francisco, Santa Maria church and the castle; while for the Museum there is a small step at the entrance.
