MONASTERIO DE SANTA MARIA (POBLET)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

Tenemos una abadía cisterciense, que fue panteón real de la corona de Aragón entre los siglos XIV y XV. El complejo monástico dispone de 3 recintos. Tiene un bellísimo claustro, y un esbelto cimborrio gótico del siglo XIV. La iglesia de planta basilical, tiene 3 naves, las laterales muy estrechas, con una girola de 5 capillas radiales.

La cronología de la iglesia nos remite al siglo XII, es románica. El claustro se edifico entre los siglos XII y XIII. El gran cimborrio es del siglo XIV.

HORARIOS

El horario de invierno (13 de octubre al 15 de marzo) es de lunes a sábado es de 10:00-12:30 y de 15:00-17:25, domingos y festivos es de 10:30-12:25 y de 15:00-17:25; el horario de verano (16 de marzo a 12 de octubre) es de lunes a sábado de 10:00-12:30 y de 15:00-17:55, domingos y festivos es de 10:30-12:25 y de 15:00 a 17:25.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

We have a Cistercian abbey, which was the royal pantheon of the Aragon crown, between the 14 th and 15 th centuries. The monastic complex has 3 enclosures. It has a beautiful cloister, and a slender Gothic dome of the 14 th century. The church of basilical plant has 3 naves, the aisles are very narrow, with a head of 5 radial chapels.

The chronology of the church refers us to the 12th c., it is Romanesque. The cloister was built between the 12th and 13th c. The big dome is from the 14 th century.

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

The winter timetable (October 13 th to March 15) is Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 12,30 pm and from 3 pm to 5,30 pm, Sundays and holidays are from 10,30 am to 12,30 pm and 3 pm to 5,25 pm; summer timetable (March 16 th to October 12 th ) is Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 12,30 pm and from 3 pm to 5,55 pm, Sunday and holidays are from 10,30 am to 12,30 pm and 3 pm to 5,25 pm.

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

Este monasterio es una abadía cisterciense, con bella portada románica del s. XII, planta de cruz latina y 3 naves; tiene 2 claustros. Existen interesantes estancias como la cocina, el refectorio, la capilla de la Trinitat, la bodega, el escritorio etc… La cronología es del siglo XII, pero como ocurre en edificios complejos las obras suelen dilatarse, por replanteamientos y reformas. El cimborrio es gótico y muy interesante es la torre de las Horas (s. XVI).

HORARIOS

El horario de verano (junio-septiembre) es d martes a domingo de 10:00-19:00 y el horario de invierno (octubre-mayo) es de martes a domingo es de 10:00-17:30. La tarifa general es de 4,50€, hay entradas reducidas.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

This monastery is a Cistercian abbey, with a beautiful Romanesque façade from 12th century, plan of Latin cross and 3 naves; has 2 cloisters. There are interesting spaces, such as the kitchen, the refectory, the Trinitat chapel, the wine cellar, the scriptorium etc... The chronology is from the 12th century, but as in complex buildings, works tends to dilate for rethinking and remodeling. The dome is Gothic and very beautiful is the Tower of the Hours (16th c).

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

Summer timetable (June-September) is from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm and winter timetable (October-May) is from Tuesday to Sunday is from 10 am to 5,30 pm. The rate is € 4,50, there are reduced tickets.

POBLET: El monasterio de Poblet es Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO desde (1991). El acceso se hace desde Tarragona, cogiendo la N-240, desviándose en L'Espluga de Francoli que va directo a Poblet.

SANTES CREUS: El acceso desde Tarragona coger la N-240 y en Valls nos salimos por la C-51 (dirección a El Vendrell), desviándonos después por la C-37 que lleva a Santes Creus.

ACCESS TO SITES-ALT CAMP

LOCATION

POBLET: The Monastery of Poblet is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since (1991). The access is made from Tarragona, taking the N-240, turning off at L'Espluga de Francoli which goes directly to Poblet.

SANTES CREUS: From Tarragona take the N-240 and in Valls we take the C-51 (direction El Vendrel), then take the C-37 that go to Santes Creus.
