INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El pueblo es Bien de Interés Cultural desde (1982), gracias a sus edificios de arquitectura medieval, destaca la iglesia de la Purificación que tiene elementos góticos y barrocos; destacando la cabecera barroca, la fachada plateresca y la torre barroca. Aún conserva algunos tramos de muralla y el ayuntamiento que esta unido a una torre del castillo, es una obra de los siglos XV y XVI, que dispone de una austera fachada con 3 arcos apuntados y bonitas ventanas ajimezadas góticas.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The town is Cultural Interest Property since (1982), thanks to its buildings of medieval architecture; emphasizing the church of La Purificación that has Gothic and Baroque elements; highlighting the Baroque head, the Plateresque façade and the Baroque tower. It still conserves some stretches of wall and the City Council that is united to a tower of the castle, is a work of15 th and 16th c. that has an austere façade with 3 pointed arches and nice double Gothic windows.

La iglesia de la Purificación es una construcción que data del siglo XVII, erigida sobre una anterior de estilo gótico; en el interior tenemos bóvedas de crucería estrellada y ábside poligonal, en el crucero se abre la cúpula barroca; en el exterior destaca la portada plateresca, con acceso de arco de medio punto, columnas y 3 hornacinas; así como la torre barroca.

TORRE DE LOS NUBLOS (IGLESUELA)

La Torre de los Nublos de Iglesuela del Cid (Exconjurador), se atribuye a los templarios (s. XIII) o a los sanjuanistas (siglo XV), forma parte de un conjunto del siglo XVI; esta construida en mampostería y sillares esquineros, con planta cuadrada, conserva las almenas.

TOWER OF THE NUBLOS (IGLESUELA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The tower of the Nublos of Iglesuela del Cid (Exconjurador), is attributed to the templars (13 th century) or saint John's follower (15 th century); it is part of a 16 th century set; it is built in rubblework masonry and corner ashlars, with a square plan, it preserves the battlements.

El Ayuntamiento de Iglesuela del Cid es un edificio de los siglos XV o XVI, con elementos del antiguo castillo templario (mazmorras), es un edificio de mampostería y sillería, en el interior hay 3 pisos y conservan las bóvedas de crucería originales; mientras en la fachada destaca el pórtico con 3 arcos apuntados.

The Town Hall of Iglesuela del Cid is a building of the 15 th or 16 th centuries, with elements of the old Templar castle (dungeons), it is a building of rubblework masonry and ashlar masonry; inside there are 3 plans and they conserve the original ribbed vaults; while in the façade it stands out the portico with 3 pointed arches.

PORTAL DE S. PABLO (IGLESUELA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Portal de San Pablo de Iglesuela del Cid es un antiguo arco de la muralla medieval, pues la localidad tuvo en el pasado muralla; por el interior tenemos un cuerpo superior encalado con hornacina flanqueada por pilastras con la imagen de San Pablo y una inscripción que dice “S. Pablo A. Año 1721”.

GATE OF SAN PABLO (IGLESUELA)

The Portal of San Pablo of Iglesuela del Cid is an old arch of the medieval wall, because the town had a wall in the past; inside we have a whitewashed upper section with a niche flanked by pilasters with the image of San Pablo and a inscription that says “S. Pablo A. Year 1721”.

La Iglesia de la Purificación de Fortanete, es una construcción del siglo XVII, de estilo barroco-clasicista; en el interior tenemos 3 naves, con cabecera plana; en el interior destaca sobre todo la decoración pictórica; en el exterior destaca la fachada con 3 arcos de medio punto y la gran torre campanario.

La iglesia de la Purificación de Allepuz es una construcción de estilo barroco, que data del siglo XVIII, construida en sillería y mampostería; en el interior destacan las 3 naves, con bóvedas vaídas y de arista; en el interior destaca el retablo neoclásico dedicado a San Antonio Abad del siglo XIX.

The church of the Purification of Allepuz is a building of Baroque style, dating from the 18 th century, built in ashlar masonry and rubblework masonry; inside we stand out the 3 naves, with vaulted and ribbed vault; inside we stand out the neoclassical altarpiece dedicated to San Antonio of 19 th century.

UBICACIÓN - MAESTRAZGO

El acceso a la zona es complicado, las carreteras son muy deficientes, con muchas curvas y superficie irregular. Se accede por 3 puntos:

Desde Morella, (situado en la N-232 entre Alcañiz y Vinaroz), coger la CV-12 hasta Villafranca, y de allí la carretera de Iglesuela del Cid.

Desde Alcañiz coger la carretera de Calanda y seguir la ruta (Mas de las Matas - Los Alagones - Olocau del Rey) así llegaremos a Mirambel.

Desde Teruel podemos seguir la ruta, a Corbalán A-226 y seguir todo recto pasaremos por Cedrillas, Monteagudo del Castillo, Allepuz, Fortanete, Villarroya de los Pinares, Montante y Cantavieja.

LOCATION - MAESTRAZGO

Access to the area is very difficult, the roads are very poor, with many curves and irregular firm. We can access from 3 points:

From Morella (located on the N-232) between Alcañiz and Vinaroz, take the CV-12 to Villafranca and from there the Iglesuela del Cid road.

From Alcañiz take de road to Calanda and follow the route (Mas de las Matas – Los Alagones – Olocau), so yo'll arrive to Mirambel.

From Teruel we can go to Corbalán A-226 and continue straight ahead you will pass through Cedrillas, Monteagudo del Castillo, Allepuz, Fortanete, Villarroya de los Pinares, Montante and Cantavieja.

El acceso para minusválidos es:

Son pueblos accesibles para sillas de ruedas y el empedrado es muy bueno en estos pueblos.

IGLESUELA DEL CID: Con silla de ruedas acceso no factible a la iglesia de la Purificación, a la torre de los Nublos y al Ayuntamiento (por presencia de escalones o escaleras), pero si podremos admirar el Portal de San Pablo.

FORTANETE Y ALLEPUZ: Con silla de ruedas acceso no factible a la iglesia de la Purificación de Fortanete (marco de la puerta), en la iglesia de la Purificación de Allepuz hay una rampa de acceso de 90 cm. de ancho

They are quite accessible towns for wheelchairs, and the pavement is good in all the towns.

IGLESUELA DEL CID: Wheelchair access not feasible to the Church of the Purification, the tower of the Nublos and the Town hall (by the presence of steps or stairs), but we can admire the Portal of San Pablo.

FORTANETE Y ALLEPUZ: Wheelchair access not feasible to the church of the Purification of Fortanete (door frame), in the church of the Purification of Allepuz there are a access ramp of 90 cm. Width.
