ACUEDUCTO (ALBARRACÍN-GEA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El acueducto de Albarracín-Gea, es una magnífica obra de ingeniería, de época romana, que mide 25 kilómetros (entre Albarracín y Cella), abasteciendo de agua a una antigua población ubicada en Cella, el acueducto se data en el siglo I d.C., además de las galerías excavadas en la roca hubo tramos con arcadas (que no se conservan).

HORARIOS- ENTRADA

Horarios junio, julio, septiembre y octubre, los sábados y domingos (hasta las 15:00), y en agosto de miércoles a domingo, de 10:00 a 14:00 y de 16:30 a 19:00.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The aqueduct of Albarracín-Gea, is a wonderful work of engineering, from Roman times, measuring 25 kilometers (between Albarracín and Cella), supplying water to an old town located in Cella, the aqueduct is dated to the 12st century AD, in addition to the galleries excavated in the rock there were stretches with arcades (that are not preserved).

Timetable in June, July, September and October is Saturdays and Sundays (until 15:00) and August from Wednesday to Sunday (10:00-14:00 and 16:30-19:00).

IGLESIA DE S. PEDRO (CALOMARDE)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de San Pedro de Calomarde es un templo de los siglos XVII-XVIII, restaurado en el siglo XIX; en el exterior destacamos la torre campanario de planta cuadrada, los contrafuertes y la fachada de medio punto; en el interior destacan sus dos naves (algo muy inusual), cubiertas con bóveda de medio cañón con lunetos y ábside trapezoidal.

El horario de misa en invierno es los festivos a las 12:30.

CHURCH OF SAN PEDRO (CALOMARDE)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The church of San Pedro of Calomarde is a temple from the 17 th -18 th centuries, restored in the 19 th century; outside we stand out the bell tower of square plan, the buttresses and the façade of round arch; inside we stand out its 2 nave (something very unusual), covered with barrel vault with lunettes and trapezoidal apse.

LA ASUNCIÓN (FRIAS DE ALBARRACÍN)

La iglesia de La Asunción de Frías de Albarracín es una obra que data de los siglos XVII y XIX, con un estilo neoclásico; en el exterior destacamos la torre de planta cuadrada, de sillería con remate octogonal superior para el reloj y la fachada cobijada en un gran arco de medio punto, aunque el acceso es adintelado; en el interior destaca la cubierta de medio cañón con lunetos, y las capillas.

El horario de misas en invierno es los festivos a las 13:00.

The church of La Asunción of Frías de Albarracin is a work that dates from the 17 th and 19 th centuries, with a neoclassical style; outside we stand out the tower of square plan, of ashlar masonry with octagonal top for the clock and the façade sheltered in a great round arch, although the access is lintel; inside we stand out the barrel vault of lunettes and the chapels.

CASCADA (CALOMARDE)

La Cascada Batida del Molino Viejo, se encuentra junto a la carretera entre Albarracín y Calomarde, es un punto clave en rutas de senderismo a uno y otro pueblo, incluso a Royuela a tan solo 6 Km., cuando se produce el deshielo, la belleza de la cascada es muy notable.

WATERFALL (CALOMARDE)

The waterfall Batida del Molino Viejo, located next to the road between Albarracín and Calomarde, is a key point in hiking trails to one and another town, even Royuela just 6 Km. away, when the thaw occurs, the beauty of the waterfall is very remarkable.

SIMA (FRIAS DE ALBARRACÍN)

La sima de Frías de Albarracín, es una formación geológica de unos 80 metros de diámetro por unos 60 metros de profundidad, es un hundimiento natural del terreno; se encuentra completamente vallada.

CHASM (FRIAS DE ALBARRACIN)

The chasm of Frias de Albarracín, is a geological formation of about 80 m. (262 ft) in diameter and 60 m. (197 ft) deep, it is a natural subsidence of the land; it is completely fenced.

CASTILLO DE PERACENSE

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

En lo alto de una peña rocosa se alza este desconocido y espectacular castillo, cuya visita recomendamos. Consta de 3 recintos concéntricos, que dan idea de la complejidad del dispositivo defensivo, el castillo dispone de foso excavado, de torre de homenaje, plaza de armas, albacara, cuadras, aljibes, salón principal y cementerio.

Las excavaciones fueron comenzadas en (1988) por José Luis Ona, después prosiguió los trabajos Octavio Collado Villalba. Los niveles inferiores han permitido recuperar materiales de la Edad del Bronce, celtibéricos y romanos, pero el grueso de los hallazgos se remonta a los siglos XIII y XIV.

CASTLE OF PERACENSE

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

At the top of a rocky cliff is located this unknown and spectacular castle, whose visit we specially recommend. It has 3 concentric enclosures, which give an idea of the high complexity of the defensive device, the fortress has an excavated moat, a keep, a courtyard, a albacara (enclosure for catle), stables, cisterns, main hall and cemetery.

Excavations were started in (1988) by José Luis Ona, after were continued by Octavio Collado Villalba. The lower levels have allowed to recover materials from the Bronze Age, Celtiberian times and Roman times, but the finds usually date back to the castle's splendor in 13 th and 14 th centuries.

El horario de invierno (14 de octubre-abril) es de sábado a domingo de 10:30-14:00 y de 15:30-18:00 (resto de la semana cerrado); el horario de primavera (17 de abril a 30 de junio) es de miércoles a domingo de 10:30-14:00 y de 16:00-20:30; el horario de verano (1 de julio a 15 de septiembre) es de lunes a domingo de 10:30-14:00 y de 16:00-21:00 y el horario de otoño (16 de septiembre al 13 de octubre) es de miércoles a domingo de 10:30-14:00 y de 15:30-19:00. Entrada general 3€, hay entradas reducidas.

The winter timetable (October-April 14th) is from Saturday to Sunday from 10,30 am to 2 pm and from 5,30 pm to 6 pm (rest of the week closed). The spring timetable (April 17th to June 30th) is from Wednesday to Sunday from 10,30 am to 2 pm from 4 pm to 8,30 pm; summer timetable (July 1st to September 15th) is from Monday to Sunday from 10,30 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm and the autumn timetable (September 26th to October 13th) is from Wednesday to Sunday from 10,30 am to 2 pm and from 3,30 pm to 7 pm. General rate € 3, there are reduced rates.

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

La mejor forma de acceder a Albarracín es desde Teruel por la A-23 (salida 124 “Caudé-Albarracín”).

PERACENSE: Desde Teruel puede cogerse la carretera de Zaragoza y desviarse en Santa Eulalia y seguir la ruta hacia Alba hasta llegar al desvió para Almohaja y Peracense.

LOCATION

The best way to access Albarracín is from Teruel on the A-23 (exit 124 “Caudé-Albarracín”).

PERACENSE: From Teruel you can take the Zaragoza road and turn off at Santa Eulalia and follow the route to Alba until reach the detour for Almohaja and Peracense.
