CASTILLO DE ESCALONA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Aunque de origen andalusí, el castillo se data en el siglo XV y es de estilo mudéjar. El castillo se ubica sobre un cerro a más de 30 m. sobre el río Alberche, dispone de 8 torres albarranas, tuvo puente levadizo y torre de homenaje; el acceso a la zona palaciega se realiza por un arco carpanel, donde hay que destacar la decoración pintada de la Sala Rica de tipo mudéjar, dispone de patio de armas, e incluso tuvo jardín.

Acceso gratuito. Horario de 9:00-13:00 los sábados, con visita guiada.

Acceso desde Maqueda por la N-403. Planta de polígono irregular.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

Desafortunadamente, con silla de ruedas no podrás subir a otros niveles.

ESCALONA'S CASTLE

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Although of Andalusi origin, the castle dates back to 15th century and is Mudejr style. The castle is located on a hill more than 30 meters (98 ft) on the Alberche river; has 8 advanced towers, had drawbridge and a keep; the access to palatial area is done by a carpanel (3 centers) arch, where it is very important to highlight the painted decoration of the Mudejar of the Sala Rica, it has courtyard and even had garden.

Admission is free, from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays, with guided tour.

ERMITA DE CASTILLO DE BAYUELA

La Ermita de Nª Señora de la Encarnación se construyó de mampostería y ladrillo, dispone de arcos semicirculares algo apuntados, que quizás sean del siglo XII-XIII, estado ruinoso.

Visita Exterior, no hay horarios, no hay entradas.

Acceso por la A-5, carretera de Extremadura; por la salida 96 o por la salida 111.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

El exterior es visitable con silla de ruedas.
