La iglesia de San Pedro de Vila Real, es un edificio del siglo XVI; en el interior destacan los paneles de azulejos (capilla mayor), muchos son del siglo XVII; así como el bello artesonado tallado y dorado. En la fachada sobresalen las 2 torres y el frontón partido.

The church of San Pedro de Vila Real, is a building of the 16 th century; inside we emphasize the panels of tiles (Mayor chapel), many from 17 th century; as well as the beautiful carved and gilded coffered ceiling. On the facade, we stand out the 2 towers and the spli pediment.

CATEDRAL S. DOMINGO (VILA REAL)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La Catedral de Santo Domingo de Vila Real, data del siglo XV, posteriormente sufrió reformas en el siglo XVI y XVIII; en el siglo XVIII sufrió un gran incendio, pasó a ser cuartel y en el siglo XX fue profundamente restaurada; en la fachada destaca el arco gótico con arquivoltas, los contrafuertes y el gran rosetón.

TheCathedral of Santo Domingo de Vila Real, dates from the 15 th century, later had renovations in the 16 th and 18 th centuries; in the 18 th century it suffered a great fire, it was a barracks and in the 20 th century it was deeply restored; The Gothic arch with archivolts, buttresses and the large rosette stand out on the façade.

PELOURINHO (VILA REAL)

El pelourinho de Portugal es una original construcción que dispone de una plataforma inferior de 4 escalones, con una sencilla basa, columna lisa sin decoración de sección octogonal, el capitel tiene forma de templete con 4 arquitos y se corona con una cruz de hierro y una banderola.

The pelourinho of Portugal is an original building that has a lower platform with 4 steps, with a simple base, smooth column without decoration of octagonal section, the capital ha the form of a temple with 4 arches and is crowned with an iron cross and a flag.

PALACIO DE MATEUS (VILA REAL)

El Palacio de Mateus (Vila Real) es un bello edificio del siglo XVIII, obra del arquitecto Nicolau Nasoni; destaca por su decoración barroca; el edificio aún en posesión de la familia originaria tiene una parte privada y otra publica que es visitable con visitas guiadas; el interior es un autentico museo con bonitos salones, biblioteca, muebles y loza.

MATEUS' PALACE (VILA REAL)

The Mateus Palace (Vila Real) is a beautiful 18 th century building, designed by the architect Nicolau Nasoni; it stands out for its Baroque decoration; the building still in possession of the original family, has a private and a public are that can be visied with guided visits; inside is an amazing museum with nice rooms, library, furnitur and earthenware.

Vila Real es una importante ciudad de Tras-os-Montes.

Por la A-24 (Norte) accedemos a Chaves, Vila Pouca y España.

Por la A-4 (Este) vamos a Mirandela y Bragança.

Por la A-4 (oeste) accedemos a Oporto. Por la A-24 (sur) vamos a Viseu, Lamego y Lisboa.

Todos los monumentos se ubican en el casco histórico; a excepción del Palacio de Mateus y Panoias.

Vila Real is an important city of Tras-os-Montes.

By A-24 (Nortn) we can access to Chaves, Vila Pouca de Aguiar and the Spanish border.

By A-4 (Est) we can go to Mirandela and Bragança.

By A-4 (West) we can go to Porto. By A-24 (south) we can go to Viseu, Lamego and Lisboa.

All the monuments are located in the historic center, except Mateus' Palace and the Sanctuary of Panoias.

SANTUARIO DE PANÓIAS

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El santuario de Panóias se data entre finales del siglo II e inicios del siglo III d.C., consiste en un santuario en el que en 3 grandes rocas hicieron una serie de cavidades, con inscripciones en griego y latín, describiendo un ritual, al parecer de sacrificios de animales.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

El horario es de 9:00-12:30 y de 14:00-17:00 horas, la entrada general son 2€, hay entradas reducidas.

SANCTUARY OF PANOIAS

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The sanctuary of Panóias dates fro the end of the second century to the beginning of the 3 rd century AD. It consists of a sanctuary where 3 large rocks made a series of cavities, with inscriptions in Greek and Latin, describing a ritual, apparently of animals' sacrifices.

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

The timetable are from 9 am to 12,30 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm, the general rate is € 2, there are reduced tickets.

ACCESO

Panóias es una localidad ubicada al sur de Vila Real, se accede muy bien por la salida 13 (Sabrosa) de la A-24, en la glorieta cruzar recto, dirección Constantim, hasta llegar a un Stop, allí girar a la derecha (pasas por debajo de la autopista) y a pocos metros aparece el cartel de Panóias a la izquierda.

Panóias is a town located to the south of Vila Real, it is accessed very well by the exit 13 (Sabrosa) on the A-12, in the roundabout cross straight, direction Constantim, until you reach a Stop, where turn righ, and pass below the motorway, and few meters beyond appear the signpost on the left.

El acceso para minusválidos es:

VILA REAL. Para usuarios de silla de ruedas, acceso factible a la iglesia de San Pedro (un escalón); acceso no factible a la catedral de Vila Real (3 escalones en la entrada principal, el acceso lateral tiene un escalón).

PANOIAS: Existe una pasarela metálica con la que podrás subir y contemplar algunos de los grandes bloques graníticos con grabados, escaleras y tumbas.

The access for handicapped is:

VILA REAL: For wheelchair users, feasible access to the church of San Pedro (one step); unfeasible access to the Vila Real cathedral (3 steps at the main entrance, the side access has a step).

PANOIAS: There is a metal walkway with which you can go up and contemplate some of the great granite blocks with engravings, stairs and tombs.
