CATEDRAL DE BILBAO

La catedral de Santiago se data en el siglo XV-XVI, es de estilo gótico, aunque la torre y la fachada son del siglo XIX, de estilo neogótico; dentro hay que visitar el claustro gótico, la Puerta del Ángel (Puerta de Peregrinos).

VISITA : Todos los días de 10:00 – 20:00 horas. Entrada 5€. Acceso factible con silla de ruedas.

CATHEDRAL OF BILBAO

The cathedral of Santiago is dated in the 15 th -16 th c. It is of Gothic style, although the tower and the facade are from 20 th century, of neo-Gothic style; inside you have to visit the Gothic cloister, the Gaete of El Angel (Pilgrim's Gate).

VISIT: Every day from 10 am to 8 pm h. €5 entry. Feasible access with wheelchair.

DIPUTACIÓN PROVINCIAL DE BILBAO

El Palacio de la Diputación de Vizcaya, es un edificio construido en (1890) por el arquitecto Luis Alardeen, es de estilo ecléctico, uniendo elementos clasicistas con un fuerte recargamiento, Dentro hay gran número de obras de arte pinturas (Echenagusia) y cerámica (paneles de Daniel Zuloaga).

VISITA: Horario de Lunes a viernes con visitas guiadas a las 10:00, 11:30, 12:30, 17:00 y 17:45. Teléfono 944.068.000. Dispone de rampa de acceso para sillas de ruedas.

PROVINCIAL COUNTY COUNCIL OF BILBAO

The Palace of the County Council of Vizcaya, is a building built in (1890) by architect Luis Alardeen, is eclectic style, combining classic elements with a strong reloading, inside there are a large number of works of art: paintings (Echenagusia) and ceramics (panels by Daniel Zuloaga).

VISIT: Timetable from Monday to Friday with guided tours at 10:00, 11:30, 12:30, 17:00 and 17:45. Telephone 944.068.000. It has access ramp for wheelchairs.

MUSEO GUGGENHEIM – BILBAO

Junto a la ría del Nervión, tenemos el famoso museo Guggenheim, diseñado por el arquitecto Frank O. Gehry, el edificio es un juego de volúmenes que se cortan y se retuercen, con diversos materiales, piedra, cristal y titanio. Las colecciones son de arte vanguardista (Expresionismo, PopArt, Arte conceptual, Minimalismo, Abstracción, Arte Povera).

VISITA: Horario de martes a domingo (10:00-20:00), lunes cerrado. Entrada general 16€ (adultos), 9€ (jubilados y estudiantes).

GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM – BILBAO

Next to the Nervión estuary, we have the famous Guggenheim museum, designed by the architect Frank O. Gehry, the building is a set of volumes that are cut and twisted, with various materials, stone, glass and titanium. The collections are avant-garde arte (Expressionism, PopArt, Consptual Art, Minimalism, Abstraction, Arte Povera).

VISIT : Time from Tuesday to Sunday (10:00-20:00) closed Monday General rate €16 (adults), €9 (retirees and students).

IGLESIA DE S. NICOLÁS – BILBAO

La iglesia de San Nicolás de Bari es un edificio del siglo XVIII, del arquitecto Ignacio de Ibero, en la fachada de estilo barroco destacan las 2 torres el reloj y el frontón. En el interior destacan las esculturas y retablos barrocos, en especial las obras de Juan de Mena.

CHURCH OF S. NICOLÁS – BILBAO

The church of San Nicolás de Bari is an 18 th century building by the architect Ignacio de Ibero. The 2 baroque towers and the clock tower stand out in the Baroque façade. Inside they emphasize the Baroque sculptures and altarpieces, especially the works of Juan de Mena.

MUSEO DE ARQUEOLOGÍA – BILBAO

El Museo Arqueológico de Vizcaya es un museo moderno (inaugurado en 2009), con más de 3.000 m2 de exposición, destacando en especial las colecciones de instrumentos y arte paleolítico y las estelas medievales.

VISITA: Horario de martes a sábado (10:00-14:00 y 16:00-19:30 h.) Entrada 3 €. – Las escaleras del entorno dificultan el acceso a los usuarios de sillas de ruedas.

MUSEUM OF ARCHEOLOGY – BILBAO

The Vizcaya Arcaheological Museum is a modern musum (inaugurated in 2009) with more than 3,000 m2 of exhibition, higlighting curiously the collections of Paleolithic instruments and medieval stelae.

VISIT: Timetable from Tuesday to Saturday (10:00-2:00 and 4:00-7:30). Rate €3. The stairs in the surroundings make access difficult for wheelchair users.

IGLESIA S. ANTÓN – BILBAO

Junto a la ría del Nervión tenemos la iglesia de San Antón, data de finales del siglo XV, además de elementos góticos hay elementos renacentistas y barrocos; la portada es renacentista y la torre es del siglo XVIII, muestra de barroco tardío.

VISITA: Horario de lunes a viernes (10:00-14:00 y 16:00-19:00), sábados de (10:00-14:00 y 16:00-18:00). Entrada 3€. Una larga escalinata dificulta el acceso a sillas de ruedas.

TEATRO CAMPOS ELISEOS – BILBAO

El teatro Campos Eliseos de Bilbao, es uno de los edificios más conocidos, data de inicios del siglo XX, obra de los arquitectos Jean Baptiste Darroquy y Alfredo Acebal, se considera que pertenece al Art Nouveau; el edificio tiene planta de herradura.

VISITA: Visitas concertadas 944.438.610. Existen escalones en la entrada.

CAMPOS ELISEOS THEATER – BILBAO

The Campos Eliseos Theater in Bilbao, is one of the most famous buildings, date from the early 20 th century, the work of the architects Jean Baptiste Darroquy and Aldredo Acebal, is considered to belong tho Art Nouveau, the building has a horseshoe floor.

VISIT: Concerted visits 944.438.610. There are steps at the entrance.

TEATRO ARRIAGA - BILBAO

El teatro de Arriaga de Bilbao data de (1890), es un edificio de estilo neo-barroco. En el interior sobresale su hall y el Foyer; son muy interesantes las salas Isabelina y Orient Express.

VISITA: Visitas guiadas en inglés, español y euskera, sábados y domingos de 11:00-13:00, dura una hora. Entrada general 5 €, las personas con movilidad reducida 3€.

ARRIAGA THEATER – BILBAO

The Arriaga theater of Bilbao dates from (1890), it is a building neo-baroque style, Inside, its hall and the Foyer stand out, the Isabelina and Orient Express rooms are very interesting.

VISIT: Guided tours in English, Spanisn and Basque, Saturdays ans Sundays from 11:00-1:00, last one hour. General admission €5, people with reduced mobility €3.

ACCESO A BILBAO : Desde Vitoria y Burgos por la AP-68 se accede a Bilbao; por la costa hay que coger la A-8 y AP-8 para acceder a Bilbao; desde la A-8 se recomienda coger la salida 116A y todo recto llegamos pronto a la zona de la ría donde hay aparcamiento.

Todos los monumentos se ubican en el centro histórico (ver plano).

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS : La catedral y la diputación provincial son los edificios más accesibles para usuarios de silla de ruedas, los demás cuentan con escalones en el acceso (Teatros, Museo, iglesias).

ACCESS TO BILBAO : From Vitoria and Burgos through the AP-68 you can access to Bilbao; along the coast you have to take the A-8 and AP-8 to access Bilbao; from the A-8 it is recommended to take the exit 116A and straight ahead we soon reach the area of the estuary where there is parking.

All the monuments are located in the historic center (see map).

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED : The cathedral and the Provintial County Council are the most accessible buildings for wheelchair users; the others have steps at the entrance (theaters, museum, churches).
