		BILBAO (Bilbo en euskera): Bilbao es una gran urbe, con un notable sector industrial (maquinaria, textil, química, cemento y astilleros) y comercial. Fundada en (1300) por Don Diego López de Haro, fue un importante puerto medieval, su posición estratégica supuso que sufriera fuertes asedios en conflictos bélicos (Guerra de la Independencia, Guerra Carlista, Guerra Civil). Pero su auge económico implicó que se desarrollara una arquitectura que es reflejo de todos esos avatares históricos, por eso la ciudad del Nervión, aglutina en su casco histórico y en sus barrios, edificios de gran belleza, de estilos muy variados pasando por el gótico (catedral y san Antón), el barroco (S. Nicolás), el eclecticismo (Casa consistorial, Palacio Chavarri y Diputación) hasta el moderno Guggenheim. Founded in (1300) by Don Diego López de Haro, it was an important medieval port, its strategic position meant that it suffered strong sieges in armed conflicts (War of independence, Carlist War, Civil War). But its economic boom meant that id developed an architecture that is a reflection of all those historical events, that is why the city of Nervión, brings together in its historic centre and its neighbourhoods, buildings of great beauty, of very varied styles, going through the Gothic (cathedral and San Antón), the Baroque (S. Nicolás), eclecticism (Consistorial House, Chavarri Palace and Deputation) to the modern Guggenheim.


		BILBAO: Los accesos para la localidad de Bilbao son: Por el Norte puedes acceder desde Getxo por la BI-637. Por el Este puedes acceder desde San Sebastián por la AP-8. Por el Sur puedes acceder desde Vitoria por la AP-68. Por el Oeste puedes acceder desde Santander por la A-8. Desde la A-8 se recomienda coger la salida 116A y todo recto llegamos pronto a la zona de la ría, junto a los monumentos. 		BILBAO: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay un parking interesante, el Parking del Instituto (P1). El aparcamiento es de pago. La ubicación del aparcamiento recomendado es muy cercana (a la zona vieja y al ensanche). ZBE: Existen restricciones para los vehículos más contaminantes, según la etiqueta medioambiental. Hay previsto multar a los infractores. Consulta la Página Oficial del Ayuntamiento. Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios. 		BILBAO: La zona donde se concentran los monumentos es el (Centro Histórico). Aquí podemos ver algunos monumentos: (catedral, museo arqueológico, teatro Arriaga, iglesia de San Antón e iglesia de San Nicolás de Bari.). En el ensanche podemos ver: (el teatro de los Campos Eliseos, la Diputación Foral, el Ayuntamiento, el Palacio Chavarri y el Guggenheim). La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 1500 m. (Ensanche) y 600 m. (Casco Viejo). La visita se desarrolla por un espacio plano .		BILBAO: The area where the monuments are concentrated is (Historic Centre). 		BILBAO: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de piedra, cemento y asfalto – casco viejo-, y caminos de cemento –ensanche-). Firme compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona plana. No hay bordillos en las aceras (casco viejo), hay bordillos (ensanche). La catedral y la diputación provincial son los edificios más accesibles para usuarios de silla de ruedas, los demás cuentan con escalones en el acceso (Teatros, Museo, iglesias). Nos informan que la última reforma del Teatro Campos Elíseos hace accesible las instalaciones. La tecnología de las sillas de ruedas ha avanzado mucho, cada vez más ligeras, hay modelos plegables, incluso hay ciudades donde se pueden alquilar, contacta con nosotros para añadir información. 		BILBAO: Bilbao tiene excepcionales comunicaciones, por carretera y tren, incluso metro y un sistema de préstamo de bicicletas eléctricas, muy útil para el viajero. Junto a la carretera que conduce a Mungia, la BI-631, si coges el desvío a Urgoiti-El Gallo llegarás al Área Recreativa Iturritxualde, donde disfrutaras de un bonito merendero tranquilo, en plena naturaleza. La catedral de Santiago se data en el siglo XV-XVI, es de estilo gótico, aunque la torre y la fachada son del siglo XIX, de estilo neogótico; dentro hay que visitar el claustro gótico, la Puerta del Ángel (Puerta de Peregrinos).

The cathedral of Santiago is dated in the 15 th -16 th c. It is of Gothic style, although the tower and the facade are from 20 th century, of neo-Gothic style; inside you have to visit the Gothic cloister, the Gaete of El Angel (Pilgrim's Gate).

Como la bonita fachada neogótica del siglo XIX, con su tracería; la torre también es neogótica, preciosa es la Puerta del Ángel que da acceso al claustro, mientras en el interior destacamos las bóvedas de crucería, la Capilla Mayor, el coro, la sacristía de estilo gótico-renacentista; así como el claustro con bella tracería, sepulcros, lápidas y gárgolas.

Like the beautiful 19 th century neo-Gothic façade with its tracery, the tower is also neo-Gothic and the Angel Gate that gives access to the cloister is beautiful; while inside we stand out the ribbed vaults, the Main Chapel, the choir, The Gothic-Renaissance style sacristy; as well as the cloister with its beautiful tracery, tombs, tombstones and gargoyles.

		INFO HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA El Palacio de la Diputación de Vizcaya, es un edificio de (1890) construido por Luis Alardeen, es ecléctico con elementos clasicistas y fuerte recargamiento. Dentro hay gran número de obras de arte pinturas (Echenagusia) y cerámica (paneles de Daniel Zuloaga). HORARIOS- ENTRADA Horario de Lunes a viernes con visitas guiadas a las 10:00, 11:30, 12:30, 17:00 y 17:45. Teléfono 944.068.000. Dispone de rampa de acceso para sillas de ruedas.				HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFO The Palace of the County Council of Vizcaya, is a building built in (1890) by architect Luis Alardeen, is eclectic style, combining classic elements with a strong reloading. Inside there are a large number of works of art: paintings (Echenagusia) and ceramics (panels by Daniel Zuloaga). 		INFO HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA Junto a la ría del Nervión, tenemos el famoso museo Guggenheim, diseñado por el arquitecto Frank O. Gehry, el edificio es un juego de volúmenes que se cortan y se retuercen, con diversos materiales, piedra, cristal y titanio. Las colecciones son de arte vanguardista (Expresionismo, PopArt, arte conceptual, Minimalismo, Abstracción, arte povera). HORARIOS- ENTRADA Horario de martes a domingo (10:00-20:00), lunes cerrado.
