La iglesia de Santa María la Mayor de Épila, es una construcción que data del siglo XVIII (obra del arquitecto Agustín Sanz); de estilo barroco-clasicista; en el exterior destaca la fachada flanqueada por 2 torres y el frontón triangular; en el interior tenemos 3 naves, el crucero se cubre con cúpula sobre tambor.

El convento de las Concepcionistas de Épila es una construcción del siglo XVII; en el exterior sobresale la fachada con 2 arcos de medio punto, con frontones partidos; el escudo con el águila bicéfala lleva las armas de los condes de Aranda; en la parte superior destaca la galería de arcos de estética mudéjar; en la iglesia destacan las pinturas de Juan Galván (siglo XVII).

The convent of the Concepcionistas of Épila is a 17 th century building; outside we stands out the façade with 2 semicircular arches, with split pediments; the coat of armas with de double-headed eagle, carries the arms of the counts of Aranda; in the upper part it stands out the gallery of arches of Mudejar aesthetics; inside the church it stand out the paintings by Juan Galván (17 th century).

CASTILLO (RUEDA DE JALÓN)

El castillo de Rueda de Jalón, es un castillo árabe, se ubica sobre un potente cerro; construido en tapial, dispone de murallas y de una torre; internamente pueden verse 3 recintos escalonados, el castillo se encuentra en estado ruinoso.

The castle of Rueda de Jalón is an Arab castle, is located on a powerful hill; built in tapial, it has walls and a tower; inside 3 staggered enclosures can be seen, the castle is in ruinous state.

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

Épila y Rueda de Jalón se encuentran en la A-122 entre Alagón y Almunia de Doña Gomina.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS:

Acceso factible a la iglesia de Santa María de Épila (amplia rampa). Con silla de ruedas el acceso no es factible al convento de las Concepcionistas de Épila (escalón y cerco de madera ) y al castillo de Rueda de Jalón (camino de cabras muy empinado).

Épila and Rueda de Jalón are located on the A-122 between Alagón and Almunia de Doña Godina.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

Feasible access to the church of Santa María of Epila (large ramp). With a wheelchair accees is not feasible to the convent of the Concepcionistas of Épila (step and wood frame) and to the castle of Rueda de Jalón (very steep narrow road).
