SAN ESTEBAN (SOS DEL REY CATÓLICO)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de San Esteban de Sos del Rey Católico, es una iglesia románica del siglo XII, mientras la sillería de coro es del siglo XVI y el órgano es de estilo rococó. La cripta data del siglo XI y tiene unas interesantes pinturas góticas. Más antigua es la pila bautismal del siglo VIII.

The church of San Esteban of Sos del Rey Católico is a Romanesque church from the 12 th century, while the choir stalls are from 16 th century and the organ is Rococo style. The crypt dates from the 11 th century and has interesting Gothic paintings. Older is the baptismal font of the 8 th century.

La Lonja de Sos del Rey Católico es un edificio medieval; es un gran edificio de sillería y sillarejo; en el exterior de la Lonja sobresale sobre todo el soportal porticado con arcos ojivales góticos; antiguamente se construyó como lugar de mercado, hoy es la biblioteca municipal.

The Lonja of Sos del Rey Católico is a medieval building; it is a large building of ashlar masonry and rubblework masonry; outside we stands out the porticoed arcade with Gothic arches; formerly it was built as a market place, but today it is the municipal library.

Las murallas medievales de Sos del Rey Católico, se conservan solo parcialmente, lo mejor conservado son los portales o puertas, en total se conservan 7 puertas, alguna aun conserva las almenas y matacanes.
