VILLA DE CENTCELLES (CONSTANTI)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La villa romana tiene pinturas y mosaicos increibles, con una de las pocas bóvedas decoradas de época romana que aun se conserva, muy espectacular. Tiene también estructuras termales. La cronología es romana, de los siglos I a IV d.C.

HORARIOS

Horario de invierno (noviembre-diciembre), de martes a sábado de 9:30-13:30 y de 15:00-17:30 y festivos de 10:00-14:00, lunes cerrado; el horario en primavera y otoño (marzo, abril, mayo y octubre) será de martes a sábado de 9:30-13:00 y 15:00-18:00 y festivos de 10:00-14:00, lunes cerrado; el horario de verano (junio, julio, agosto y septiembre) es de martes a sábado de 10:00-13:30 y 16:00-20:00 y festivos de 10:00-14:00, lunes cerrado. Entrada 1,80€, hay entradas reducidas

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The vila has nice paintings and mosaics, with one of the few vaults decorated from Roman times still preserved, very spectacular. It also has a thermal structures. The dating is Roman from 1st to 4th c. AD.

Winter timetable (November-December) from Tuesday to Saturday from 9 to 1,10 and from 3 to 5,30; and holidays from 10 to 2; closed Mondays; the spring and autumn timetable (March, April, May and October) is from Tuesday to Saturday from 9,30 to 1 and from 3 to 6 and holidays from 10 to 2, Monday closed; summer timetable (June, July, August and September) is from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 to 1,30 and from 2 to 8 and holidays from 10 to 2, Monday closed; General rate €1,80, there are reduced tickets.

ARCO DE BARA

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

Se trata de un arco de triunfo, ubicado entonces en la Via Augusta (hoy la N-340), se eleva sobre un podio, con 4 pilastras acanaladas, rematadas en capiteles corintios; el gran arco central es un arco de medio punto y la parte superior es un simple entablamento. El arco data del año 13 a.C., es de la época de Augusto, fue mandado construir por Lucio Licinio Sura.

ARCH OF BARA

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

It is an arch of triumph, then located on the Via Augusta (today in the N-340), rises on a podium, with 4 ribbed pilasters, topped in Corintians capitals; the large central arch is a semicircular arch and the upper part is a simple entablature. The arch dates from 13 BC, is from the time of Augustus, and was built by order of L. Licinio Sura.

CENTCELLES: Constanti se sitúa entre Reus y Tarragona, en la TV-7211, mientras la villa-mausoleo de Centcelles esta a 7 kilómetros de Tarragona y muy cerca del río Francoli. La villa es Patrimonio de la Humanidad, dentro del Conjunto Arqueológico de Tarraco.

BARA: En la comarca de Tarragona podemos encontrar: el arco de Bara, la torre de los Escipiones (ambos junto a la N-340) y el acueducto (junto a la carretera de Valls).

CENTCELLES: Hay escalones que pueden obstaculizar el acceso a algún espacio.

LOCATION

CENTCELLES: Constanti is located between Reus and Tarragona, on TV-7211, the vila-mausoleum of Centcelles is 7 Km (4,3 miles) from Tarragona and very close to Francoli river. The vila is World Heritage Site, inside the Archaeological Complex of Tarraco.

BARA: In the surroundings of Tarragona we can find: the arch of Bara, the tower of Scipions (both next to the N-340) and the aqueduct (next to the road of Valls).
