CASTILLO DE MOLINA DE ARAGÓN

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Las murallas de Molina engloban una gran superficie, dentro esta la albacara y el castillo de D. Manrique al que se accede por un arco apuntado, dispone de altas torres de sillería, el complejo se edifico sobre el solar de un castro ibérico y de una fortaleza andalusí. La torre de homenaje o “torre de Aragón” es pentagonal, con muralla almenada.

Acceso por la N-II (Alcolea del Pinar), donde se coge la N-211 para Molina de Aragón.

CASTLE OF MOLINA DE ARAGÓN

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The walls of Moline enclosure a large area; inside has the albacara (for cattle), the castle of Don Manrique which is accessed by a pointed arch; has high towers of ashlar; the complex was built over an Iberian hillfort, and over an Andalusi fortress. The keep is known as “tower of Aragón” is pentagonal, surrounded by a wall with battlements.

CASTRO DE EL CEREMEÑO (HERRERIA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Castro celtibérico, ubicado en un cerro, con muralla perimetral, que protege un conjunto de viviendas tripartitas (vestíbulo, salón y despensa). Cronología de la Edad del Hierro, excavado por Maria Luisa Cerdeño.

ACCESO

El pueblo de Herrería se encuentra en la N-211, cerca de Molina de Aragón; desde la N-II por Alcolea del Pinar se accede muy bien; el yacimiento esta indicado en la carretera.

HILLFORT OF EL CEREMEÑO (HERRERIA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Is a Celtiberian hillfort, located over a hill, with an enclosure of stone blocks, that protect a house group, of structure with 3 spaces (hall, lounge and storage), Iron Age. Excavated by Mª Luisa Cerdeño.

LOCATION

Herreria is located in the N-211, near of Molina de Aragón; from the A-2 in Alcolea del Pinar is very easy access; the settelement is signposted in the road.
