CATEDRAL (HUELVA)

La catedral de la Merced de Huelva, se data en el siglo XVII, la construcción se realiza junto al convento de La Merced, sufrió 2 terremotos en (1755) y (1765), en el interior desataca la bóveda central de medio cañón y la cúpula semiesférica barroca; en el exterior las espadañas laterales datan del siglo XX.

VISITA : Horario de martes a viernes de 11:00-13:00 y de lunes a domingos de 18:00-20:00. Entrada gratuita.

CATHEDRAL (HUELVA)

The Cathedral of La Merced of Huelva, dates back to the 17 th century, was built next to the convent of La Merced, suffered 2 earthquakes in (1755) and in (1765), and inside stand out the mid-barrel vault and the baroque hemispherical dome; on the outside the lateral belltowers date back to the 20 th century.

VISIT : Timetable from Tuesday to Friday from 11:00-13:00 and from Monday to Sunday from 18:00-20:00. Free entrance.

FE DESCUBRIDORA (HUELVA)

El monumento a la Fe Descubridora de Huelva es uno de los monumentos más emblemáticos de Huelva, ubicado en la confluencia entre los ríos Tinto y Odiel, es obra de una escultora de Estados Unidos, llamada Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, la escultura es una figura de un monje franciscano apoyado sobre una cruz en forma de “Tau”, en el pedestal hay referencias a las culturas precolombinas, la escultura mide 37 m. (121 ft).

VISITA : Visita los sábados de 10:00-13:00 y visitas guiadas a las 11:00 (959.260.708). Entrada gratis.

FE DESCUBRIDORA (HUELVA)

The Monument of La Fe Descubridora (Discoverer Faith) is one of the most emblematic monuments of Huelva, located at the confluence between the Tinto and Odiel rivers, it is the work of a sculptor from the USA, named Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, the sculpture is a figure of a Franciscan monk leaning on a cross in the form of “Tau”, on the pedestal there are references to the pre-Columbian cultures, the sculpture measures 37 m. (121 ft).

VISIT : Visit on Saturdays from 10:00-13:00 and guided tours at 11:00 (959.260.708). Admission free.

MON. EL ROCIO (HUELVA)

El Monumento a la Virgen del Rocío de Huelva, es una bonita obra de bronce, mide unos 4,30 metros de alto (14 ft); conmemora la pasión de las hermandades rocieras, con un grupo de hermanos rocieros portando a la virgen. La escultura es del siglo XXI.

VISITA : Visita exterior.

MON. EL ROCIO (HUELVA)

The monument of La Virgen del Rocio of the city of Huelva, is a beautiful bronze work, measuring about 4.30 m high (14 ft), commemorates the passion of the rocieros' brotherhoods carrying the virgin. The sculpture is from the 21 st century.

IG. DE SAN PEDRO (HUELVA)

La iglesia de San Pedro de Huelva es un edificio renacentista que se data entre los siglos XVI y XVII. Dentro conviene admirar el Cristo de las Siete Palabras (s. XVI). En el exterior algunos muros de ladrillo con arcos entrecruzados nos muestran su antigua estética, hoy alterada por los muros coloridos, más alegres.

VISITA : Horario de verano (19 de junio a 17 de septiembre) los laborables a las 20:00, festivos a las 10:00 y a las 20:00. Horario de invierno: Los laborables a las 19:30, festivos a las 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 19:30 y 20:00.

S. PEDRO (HUELVA)

The church of San Pedro de Huelva is a Renaissance building dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. Inside it is good to admire the Christ of the Seven Words (16 th century). On the outside some bricks walls with criss-crossed arches show us their old aesthetics, today altered by the colorful walls, more cheerful.

VISIT : Sumer timetable (June 19 to September 17), workdays at 20:00, holidays at 10:00 and at 20:00. Winter timetable: Workdays at 19:30, holidays at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30 and 20:00.

CASA DE COLÓN (HUELVA)

La Casa de Colón es un edificio construido en el siglo XIX, para dotara a Huelva de un hotel para la pujante capital andaluza, que con las minas vivía un momento de esplendor, tras el IV Centenario del Descubrimiento de América el edificio paso a llamarse Casa de Colón, pasando a ser un centro de exposiciones.

VISITA : Horario de lunes a viernes de 10:00 a 14:00 y de 17:00 a 20:00. Entrada gratis.

COLUMBUS' HOUSE (HUELVA)

The Columbus' House is a building built in the 19 th century, to provide Huelva with a hotel for the thriving Andalusian captal, which lived a moment of splendor with the mines, after the IV Centenary of the Discovery of America the building was renamed Columbus' House, becoming an exhibition center.

VISIT : Timetable Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00. Admission free.

ACCESO A HUELVA : Por la A-49 (Portugal-Sevilla) o por la N-435 (desde Badajoz). Los monumentos se ubican en el centro histórico, salvo el monumento a la Fe Descubridora (al sur, en la unión de los ríos Tinto y Odiel), justo en frente de este punto, al otro lado del Tinto se ubican los enclaves de Palos de la Frontera.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS : Acceso con silla de ruedas factible al exterior en el monumento a la Fe Descubridora, a la torre Arenillas, al muelle de las Carabelas, al Plus Ultra, al monasterio de La Rábida (escalones en el acceso), a la catedral de La Merced (escalinatas de acceso). Por otro lado se puede entrar con silla de ruedas a alguna Carabela (con ayuda y silla estrecha) y a la iglesia de San Pedro.

ACCESS TO HUELVA : On the A-49 (Portugal-Seville) or on the N-435 (from Badajoz). The monuments are located in the historic center, except for the Monument of La Fe Descubridora (to the south, ath the confluence of the Tinto and Odiel rivers), just in front of this point, on the other side of Tinto River are the monuments of Palos de la Frontera.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED : Accessible with wheelchair to the ouside in the Monument to the Fe Descubridora, to Arenillas tower, to dock of Las Carabelas, to Plus Ultra monument, to La Rábida monastery (steps in the access), the cathedral of La Merced (access stairs). On the other hand you can enter with a wheelchair in a caravel (with help and narrow chair) and the church of San Pedro.
