SERÓS: Es una localidad de la comarca del Segriá, ubicada en el valle del río Segre que produce una fértil vega agrícola.

Serós dispone de varios monumentos, pero destaca en especial el monasterio de Avinganya (primer monasterio de la orden trinitaria en la península ibérica) y el yacimiento visigodo de El Bovalar.

También hay que mencionar el palacio de los Montcada y la iglesia de Santa María.

En el pueblo hay rutas de senderismo muy interesantes y atractivas. Algunas están señalizadas (carteles y balizas).

BOVALAR: El yacimiento se ubica a 2 kilómetros, al sur de Seros, accediéndose por la carretera que de Seros va a Flix, cruza el rio Segre y tuerce en el primer desvío a la izquierda, se ubica sobre un montículo junto al río Segre.

El convento de Nostra Senyora dels Àngels de Avinganya es un edificio que Don Pere de Bellvis en el siglo XII mandó construir como donación para los trinitarios, que habían sido sus libertadores frente a los musulmanes.

La iglesia pese a haber estado en ruinas (hoy en proceso de restauración) aún conserva la iglesia con su nave, la torre, el ábside y capillas, así como el claustro, parte de su belleza.

The convent of Nostra Senyora dels Àngels of Avinganya is a building that Don Pere de Bellvis in the 12 th century built as a donation for the Trinitarians, who had been their liberators against the Muslims.

Quizás el enclave visigodo más importante de Cataluña. Tenemos un pequeño poblado, necrópolis y la basílica. La basílica tiene 3 naves separadas por columnas, la cabecera es tripartita con baptisterio.

Las viviendas son de 2 o 3 estancias, con una única puerta. En el Museo de Historia de Cataluña existe una reproducción del baptisterio. La cronología es de los siglos IV-VIII d.C. tardorromano y visigodo.

Possibly the most important Visigoth site in Catalonia. We have a small village, necropolis and the basilica. The basilica has 3 naves separated by columns, with tripartite head and baptistery.

The houses has 2 or 3 rooms, with a single door. In the Museum of History of Catalonia there is a reproduction of the baptistery. The Chronology is of the 4 th -8 th centuries, Late Roman and Visigothic.

El yacimiento se ubica en un cerro, los restos encontrados avalan la primera producción de cerveza documentada. El poblado es de viviendas de piedra trabadas con barro, adosadas, creando una muralla con los muros traseros.

Cronología de la Edad del Bronce Final, siglo IX a.C. Las excavaciones sistemáticas las dirigió José Luis Maya González en los años 70'. El acceso se realiza desde la N-II o la AP-2, bien desde Soses, o bien desde Seros, por la LP-7041.

 
 

The site is located on a hill, the remains found confirm the first beer production documented. The settlement has some cottages built with mud, semi-detached, creating a wall with the back walls.

The chronology of the settlement is Late-Bronze Age, 9 th century B.C. The systematic excavations were directed by Jose Luis Maya González in the 70'. The access to the site is feasible from the N-II or by the AP-2, or from Soses or from Seros by the LP-7041.
