MENHIR DE GUADALUPE

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

La región de Évora tiene una alta concentración de menhires se conocen más de un centenar, se datan en tiempos del Neolítico entre 5500-4500 a.C. el menhir dos Almendres tiene forma de huevo alargado, con un báculo grabado en bajorrelieve; esta alineado con el crómlech colocándose a la salida del Sol.

MENHIR OF GUADALUPE

The Évora area has a high concentration of menhirs are known more than a hundred, dating back to Neolithic times between 5500-4500 DC. The menhir dos Almendres is shaped like an elongated egg, with a staff engraved in bas-relief, is aligned with the cromlech standing at the sunrise.

CROMLECH DE GUADALUPE

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El crómlech dos Almendres es un complejo megalítico formado por círculos de piedras hincadas, esta considerado como el crómlech más grande de la Península Ibérica, curiosamente este crómlech es 2.000 años más antiguo que el de Stonehenge (Gran Bretaña), se data hace 7.000 años, el monumento es monumental dispone de unos 100 monolitos.

The cromlech dos Almendres is a megalithic monument formed by circles of vertical stones, considered as the largest cromlech of the Iberian Peninsula, curiously this cromlech is 2,000 years older than the cromlech of Stonehenge (Great Britain); Guadalupe dates 7,000 years ago, the megalith is monumental has about 100 monoliths.

ANTA GRANDE DO ZAMBUJEIRO - VALVERDE

El dólmen de Zambujeiro se data hace 6.000 años, era un lugar funerario, tiene cámara y corredor o pasillo de acceso, cubriéndose el conjunto con un dolmen de piedras y tierra, llamado en Portugal “mamoa”, los ortostatos con 6 metros de altura son monumentales, haciendo del anta Grande de Zambujeiro, quizás la más alta del mundo.

ANTA GRANDE DO ZAMBUJEIRO - VALVERDE

The Zambujeiro dolmen dates from 6,000 years ago, was a burial place, has a camera and corridor or access hall, covering the whole with a dolmen of stones and earth, called in Portugal “mamoa”, the orthostats with 6 m (19.68 ft) of height are monumental, making of the Anta Grande de Zambujeiro, perhaps the highest of the world.

ACUEDUCTO DE ÉVORA

El acueducto no es romano, sino una obra del siglo XVI, data del reinado de João III, justo a la entrada de la ciudad el acueducto alcanza 12 m. de altura.

The aqueduct is not Roman, but a work of the 16 th century, dating back to the reign of João III, just at the entrance to the city the aqueduct reaches 12 m. (39.36 ft) of height.

CATEDRAL DE ÉVORA

La catedral de Évora data de los siglos XIII-XIV, es de estilo Románico y Gótico de transición, como en otras catedrales lusas aparecen las almenas, la nave central se cubrió con una bóveda de cañón, algo apuntada; en el crucero tenemos una original cúpula octogonal; también destaca la silleria de coro del Renacimiento, mientras el claustro del siglo XIV es de estilo gótico.

CATHEDRAL OF ÉVORA

The cathedral of Évora dates from the 13 th -14 th centuries, is of Romanesque and Gothic style of transition, as in Portuguese cathedrals appear the battlements, the central nave was covered with a barrel vault, something pointed; on the crossin we have an original octagonal dome; also emphasizes the Choir stalls of the Renaissance, while the cloister of the 14 th century is of Gothic style.

ACCESO - MEGALITOS

En sentido Este-Oeste la A-6 y la N-4 son las principales carreteras de acceso para llegar a Évora desde Lisboa y desde España; en sentido Norte-Sur, pasa por Évora la IP2 con ruta (Portalegre - Estremoz - Évora - Beja).

MEGALITOS: Desde Évora coge la N-114, dirección Lisboa desvíate a Guadalupe, aquí verás indicadores para los megalitos; después ir a Valverde para acceder a la Anta Grande do Zambujeiro.

MINUSVÁLIDOS - MEGALITOS

MEGALITOS: Acceso no factible al menhir, quizás al crómlech (hay unas cadenas pero el camino es bueno) y al anta tras aparcar debes pasar una pasarela y un camino de unos 80 m. arenoso y pedregoso, pero factible, después llegaras a una valla que cierra el dolmen con entrada de 75 cm. (2.46 ft).

LOCATION – (MEGALITHS)

In the East-West direction the A-6 and N-4 are the main roads to reach Évora from Lisboa and from Spain; in the North direction passes through Évora the IP2 that takes the route (Portalegre - Estremoz - Évora - Beja).

From Évora take the N-114, direction Lisboa and detour to Guadalupe, you'll see signpostes for the megaliths; then you have to go to Valverde to access the Anta Grande do Zambujeiro.

HANDICAPPED - MEGALITHS

Not feasible access for the menhir, maybe feasible for cromlech (there are chains, but the way is good) and the anta, after park, you must to pass a footbridge and a way of 80 m. (262 ft) sandy and stony, but feasible, after you'll arrive to a fence that close the dolmen with a gate of 75 cm. (2.46 ft.).
