		CASTELO DE EVORAMONTE INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA Los expertos dicen que la torre de homenaje de Evoramonte es de estética italiana, data del siglo XIV, pero el edificio actual fue reformado tras el terremoto de (1531), reconstruyéndose en el siglo XVI, el interior fue restaurado. Unos cordones anudados separan las distintas plantas y una muralla con 5 torres circulares rodea el castillo. ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS Horario de martes a domingo de 10:00 a 13:00 y de 14:00 a 17:00, cierra el último fin de semana de cada mes. Entrada 1,50 euros. ACCESO La N-18 y la A-6 pasan por Evoramonte, así que el acceso es sencillo por el oeste desde Lisboa y Évora y por el este desde España. El castillo se ubica al norte de la ciudad. En Estremoz podemos diferenciar al menos dos cercas, la más antigua es del siglo XIII, es una estructura medieval de sillarejo; posteriormente en el siglo XVII se construyó una muralla abaluartada, diseñada por el jesuita João Pascácio; son monumentales las 4 grandes puertas: Puerta de los Currais (S), Puerta de Évora (SW), Puerta de Santa Catarina (N) y Puerta de San Antonio (E).

In Estremoz we can distinguish at least 2 enclosures, the oldest one of the 13th century, is a nice medieval structure of rubblework; later in the 17 th century a baluarted wall was built, designed by the Jesuist João Pascácio; are very monumental the 4 great doors: Door of Currais (S), Door of Évora (SW), Door of Santa Catarina (N) and Door of Santo Antonio (E).

Se trata de un castillo, del que sobresale la alta torre de homenaje del siglo XIII, que mide 27 metros, en el siglo XVII una parte del castillo resultó muy dañada por la explosión del polvorín, del siglo XVII es la cerca abaluartada y en el siglo XVIII, el rey João V reconstruyó buena parte del pazo, que hoy es una Pousada (Parador Nacional).

La iglesia de Santa Maria de Estremoz se data en el siglo XVI, fue construida por el infante D. Enrique y por el rey D. Sebastião. La iglesia es de estilo manierista destacando la fachada de estilo chão.

The church of Santa Maria of Estremoz is dated in the 16 th century, was built by the prince D. Henrique and the king D. Sebastião. The church is of Mannerist style empasizing the façade of Chão style.

ACCESO

La N-4 y la A-6 que llevan la ruta (Évora-Estremoz-Elvas) pasan por Estremoz, siendo muy fácil acceder desde Lisboa y desde España.

Una vez que sales de la N-4, en la primera glorieta, gira a la derecha, te llevara a las puertas de la muralla, sin atravesar la ciudad.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

Visita exterior a la muralla, el castillo es inaccesible debido a las escaleras para sillas de ruedas y la bella iglesia de Santa María, si es accesible a sillas de ruedas.

LOCATION

The N-4 and A-6 that lead the route (Évora - Estremoz - Elvas) pass through Estremoz, being easy to access from Lisbon and from Spain.

Once you exit the N-4, at the first roundabout, turn right, this road go to the gates of the wall, without crossing the city.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED

Outside visit to the wall, the castle is inaccessible by the stairs for wheelchairs and the beautiful church of Santa María, is accessible for wheelchairs.
