CASTILLO DE PEÑAFIEL

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Dispone de una poderosa línea de murallas de piedra de Campaspero, con 28 torres almenadas; con torre de homenaje de 34 metros de altura. El castillo tiene su origen en el siglo X, pero casi todo lo visible hoy data del siglo XV, la muralla exterior parece datar del siglo XI. Hoy es sede del Museo Provincial del Vino de Valladolid.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Entrada general de 6,60 €, visita guiada con especialistas; el horario de verano (abril-septiembre) de martes a domingo es de 10:30-14:00 y 16:00-20:00 y horario de invierno (octubre-marzo) de martes a domingo de 10:30-14:00 y de 16:00-18:00; todos los lunes cierra.

ACCESO

Desde la N-122 se puede acceder a Peñafiel, desde Aranda de Duero o desde Valladolid. El castillo se encuentra en un cerro alargado.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

A muchos puntos se accede por escaleras estrechas y empinadas, por lo que no es apto para ser visitado en silla de ruedas.

CASTLE OF PEÑAFIEL

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

It has a powerful line of stone walls of Campaspero, with 28 circular towers with battlements; with keep of 34 meters (109 ft) high. The castle dates back to the 10 th c., but almost all that you can see tooday is from 15 th century, the outer wall seems to date back to the 11 th century. Today is home to the Provincial Wine Museum of Valladolid.

General rate is € 6,60, guided tour with specialists; The summer timetable (April-September) from Tuesday to Sunday is from 10,30 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm; an in winter (October-march) from Tuesday to Sunday from 10,30 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm; every Monday closes.

LOCATION

From the N-122 you can access Peñafiel, from Aranda de Duero and from Valladolid. The castle is located on an elongated hill.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED

To many points you must to access by narrow and steep stairs, so it isn't suitable to be visited in a wheelchair.

El yacimiento de Pintia alberga un conjunto de tumbas de los vacceos; es una necrópolis de incineración, con urnas funerarias se para las cenizas y huesos del muerto; se enterraban en un agujero y después con una laja de piedra se señalizaba el lugar del enterramiento, a modo de estelas de caliza. Tiene 250 tumbas. Cronología (s. V a.C. al siglo II d.C).

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Entrada de 5 € por persona (hay entradas reducidas), en verano (junio, julio, agosto) hay visitas guiadas de miércoles a domingo, a las 10:30, 12:30, 17:30 y 19:30; los domingos no hay visita por la tarde; el resto del año las visitas se hacen en grupos de al menos 10 personas, y solicitud por correo electrónico malito:cevfw@uva.es www.pintiavaccea.es

Pintia se encuentra en Padilla de Duero (localidad cercana a Peñafiel), al norte del pueblo junto al río Duero.

The site of Pintia keep a set of tombs of the Vacceos; is a necropolis of incineration, in which burial urns were introduced, tha ashes and bones of the dead; buried in a hole and then with a slab of stone signaled the place of burial, in some case with true stelae of limestone. So far, some 250 graves have been cataloged. Chronology of the 5 th century BC until the 2 nd century AD.

General rate € 5 per person (there are reduced tickets); in summer (June, July, August) have guided tours from Wednesday to Sunday at 10,30 am, 12,30 pm, 5,30 pm and 7,30 pm; on Sundays there isn't visits in the afernoon; the rest of the year the visits are with at least 10 persons, with request to malito:cevfw@uva.es www.pintiavaccea.es

MONASTERIO DE SANTA MARÍA (VALBUENA DE DUERO)

Monasterio cisterciense, construido en recia sillería, dotado de fuertes contrafuertes, con simples canecillos y arquivoltas que añaden más austeridad; con un claustro muy sobrio.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

El horario de invierno (octubre-marzo) es de martes a sábado y festivos de 10:15-13:45 y de 15:00-18:45, los domingos es de 10:15-13:45. El horario de verano (abril-septiembre) de martes a sábado y festivos es de 10:15-13:45 y de 16:00-19:45, el domingo el horario es de 10:15-13:45. Los lunes siempre esta cerrado. La entrada general son 4 €, hay tarifas reducidas; hay servicio de audioguía.

ACCESO-ACCESIBILIDAD

Ubicado en la pedanía de San Bernardo, al este de Valbuena de Duero. El monasterio se ubica en la margen norte del Duero y esta indicado en la carretera entre Valbuena de Duero y Pesquera de Duero.

It is a Cistercian monatery, built in strong ashlar, it has strong buttresses, with simple corbels and archivolts that reinforce its austerity; also the cloister breathes sobriety.

The winter timetable (October-March) is from Tuesday to Saturday and holidays from 10,15 am to 1,45 pm and from 3 pm – 6,45 pm; on Sundays to Saturdays is from to 10,15 am to 1,45 pm. The summer timetable (April-September) from Tuesday to Saturday and holidays is from 10,15 am – 1,45 pm and from 4 pm to 7,45 pm; on Sundays the timetable is from 10,15 am to 1,53. Mondays are closed.

Located on the village of San Bernardo, east of Vallbuena de Duero. The monastery is located on the north bank of the Duero and is signposted on the road between Valbuena de Duero and Pesquera de Duero.
