PUENTE DE LA MUZA (BALMASEDA)

El Puente romano llamado de la Muza, dispone de un torreón o fornix, de los siglos XIII (la base) y XV (la parte superior); para el pago de impuestos (Portazgo).

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS: Acceso libre, sin horarios y sin entrada.

ACCESO-ACCESIBILIDAD: Se accede al pueblo de Balmaseda (Capital de la comarca de las Encartaciones) desde Bilbao, por la BI-636, la localidad es muy interesante, pues además del puente, podemos admirar un ramal de la calzada romana, Pisoraca - Flaviobriga y otros edificios del casco antiguo.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS: Accesible para sillas de ruedas.

BRIDGE OF LA MUZA (BALMASEDA)

The Roman bridge called “de la Muza”, has a tower or “fornix”, from the 13 th (the base) and 15 th (the upper), for the payment of taxes (Portazgo).

ACCESS: Access to Balmaseda (capital of Encartaciones region) from Bilbao by the BI-636, the town is very interesting, because in addition to the bridge, we can admire a branch of the Roman road, which from Pisoraca went to Flaviobriga and others buildings of the old town.

IGLESIA DE S. MIGUEL – AHEDO

La iglesia de San Miguel de Ahedo (Carranza), es una iglesia rural vasca con orígenes en el siglo XV, pero el actual edificio data del siglo XVII, es de sillería (esquinas) y sillarejo, corona la fachada la típica espadaña, con un aire muy sobrio, que data del siglo XVIII.

VISITA: La iglesia suele estar cerrada, las misas son a las 12:00. Hay un acceso por escalinata corto pero no factible para silla de ruedas.

CHURCH OF S. MIGUEL – AHEDO

The church of San Miguel de Ahedo (Carranza), is a rural Basque church with origins in the 15 th century, but the current building dates from the 17 th century, it is of ashlar (corners) and rubblework, crowns the facade a bell gable with a very sober air, dating from the 18 th c.

VISIT: The church is usually closed, the Masses are at 12:00. There is a short staircase access but not deasible for wheelchairs.

TORREÓN DE AHEDO

Torreón medieval posiblemente restaurado en varias ocasiones (s. XVII y XVIII), con partes de sillería (frontal con 3 arcos y heráldica) y partes de sillarejo, los agujeros de mechinales muestran una torre de 3 plantas.

VISITA: Visita exterior – Con silla de ruedas solo puedes acercarte.

TOWER OF AHEDO

Medieval tower possibly restored in several times (17 th -18 th centuries), with parts of ashlar (frontal with 3 arches and heraldic) and parts of rubblework, the holes of beams show a tower of 3 floors.

VISIT: Visit outside – With a wheelchair you can only get close.

PALACIO DE VILLAPATERNA

El palacio de Villapaterna se edificio en sillería en el siglo XVIII, es de estilo clasicista, es un complejo con diversas instalaciones, el palacio dispone de gran alero, 3 balcones y entrada adintelada; mientras la capilla dispone de fachada de pilastras simples, arco de medio punto y espadaña-frontón del siglo XVIII.

VISITA: Visita exterior.

VILLAPATERNA PALACE

The Villapaterna Palace is a building of ashlar masonry, from 18 th century, it is of classicist style, it is a complex with various dependencies, the palace has a large eaves, 3 balconies and a lintel gate; while the chapel has a facade of simple pilasters, a semicircular arch and a bell gable-pediment from the 18 th century.

VISIT: Visit outside.

ACCESO A ENCARTACIONES : La comarca se encuentra en la parte más occidental de Vizcaya, desde Bilbao puedes coger la BI-636, desde la A-8 cogiendo la salida 118; desde Cantabria puedes coger la CA-150 (comienza en la N-629 cerca de Ramales de la Victoria) después la CA-150 se transforma en la BI-630, todos los pueblos están cerca de esta carretera.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS : El más accesible es el puente de la Muza (Balmaceda), los demás tienen escalones en los accesos pero puedes acercarte a su entorno.

ACCESS TO ENCARTACIONES : The region is located in the westernmost part of Vizcaya, from Bilbao you can take the BI-636, from the A-8 taking exit 118; from Cantabria you can take the CA-150 (it starts on the N-629 near Ramales de la Victoria) then the CA-150 becomes the BI-630, all towns are closet o this road.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED : The most accesible is the bridge of the Musa (Balmaceda), the others have steps at the entrantes but you can get closer to their surroundings.
