ARCO DE SANTA ANA – DURANGO

El arco de Santa Ana de Durango es uno de los escasos restos que aun conserva Durango de las antiguas murallas medievales, pero la edificación actual es del siglo XVIII, un arco de triunfo de estilo barroco, que poca relación tiene con el Medievo.

ARCH OF SANTA ANA – DURANGO

The arch of Santa Ana of Durango is one of the few remains that Durango stlll has of the ancient medieval walls, but the current building is from the 18th century, a triumphal arch of Baroque style, which has a little relationship with the Medieval.

AYUNTAMIENTO DE DURANGO

La fachada del ayuntamiento de Durango es el elemento más original, con 3 plantas o cuerpos, la primera una galería de arcos de medio punto separados por pilastras; la segunda planta es un largo balcón donde comienza un amplio y colorido telón que cubre también la tercera planta y se remata el edificio en un amplio alero.

TOWN HALL OF DURANGO

The facade of the city hall of Durango is the most original element, with 3 floors or bodies, the first a gallery of semicircular arches separated by pilasters, the seconf floor is a balcony where a large and colorful curtain begins that also covers the third floor and the building finished in a wide eaves.

VISIT: Outside visit – Access to the surroundings feasible with wheelchair.

IGLESIA DE S. ANA – DURANGO

La iglesia de Santa Ana, se data en el siglo XV, pero el templo sufrió diversas reformas y ampliaciones en el siglo XVI y XVIII, por ello predomina más el estilo barroco y el herreriano.

VISITA: Horario los sábados a las 19:30 y domingos a las 9:30, 11:30 y 12:30. Visitas guiadas 946.810.219.

CHURCH OF S. ANA – DURANGO

The church of Santa Ana, is dated in the 15 th century, but the temple underwent various reforms and extensions in the 16 th and 18 th c., for this reason predomiated the Baroque and Herrerian styles.

VISIT : Timetable on Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 9:30 am, 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Guided tours 946.810.219.

BASÍLICA DE S. MARIA – DURANGO

La Basílica de Santa María de Uríbarri, de Durango; los orígenes se datan en el siglo XV-XVI, de estilo gótico-renacentista; pero las reformas del siglo XVII hacen que el edificio actual sea de estilo barroco; debemos destacar sobre todo el pórtico; dentro sobresale el altar mayor con su retablo obra de Martín Ruiz de Zubiate; tras el bombardeo de (1937) el edificio tuvo que ser restaurado.

VISITA: Horario durante las misas. 946.033.938. Entrada gratuita.

BASILICA OF S. MARÍA – DURANGO

The Basilica of Santa María of Uribarri, of Durango; has the origins en the 15 th -16 th centuries, of Gothis-Renaissance style; but the reforms of the 17 th century make the current building Baroque style; we must emphasize above all the facade; inside the main altar stands out with its altarpiece by Martín Ruis Zubiate; after the bombing of (1937) the building had to be restored.

MUSEO DE ARTE E HISTORIA – DURANGO

El Museo de Arte e Historia de Durango, tiene su sede en el Palacio Etxezarreta, un edificio de estilo barroco, de gran belleza, dentro alberga exposiciones estables y temporales, destacamos la maqueta de Durango en el siglo XV.

VISITA: Horario de martes a viernes (10:00-13:00 y 17:00-20:00), sábados (11:00-14:00 y 17:00-20:00), domingos y festivos (11:00-14:00), lunes cerrado.

MUSEUM OF ART AND HISTORY – DURANGO

The museum of Art and History of Durango, has its headquarters in the Etxezarreta Palace, a baroque building, of great beauty, inside houses stable and temporary exhibitions, we highlight the model of Durango in the 15 th century.

VISIT: Timetable from Tuesday to Friday (10:00-1:00 and 5:00-8:00), Saturdays (11:00-2:00 and 5:00-8:00), Sundays and holidays (11:00-2:00), closed Monday.

PALACIO DE ETXE ZURIA .

El palacio de Etxe Zuria de Durango es un bello edificio de sillería, con trazado clasicista-barroco, con bonita heráldica, balcones y un gran alero decoran la fachada; en el interior hay una galería decorada con cerámica de Daniel Zuloaga. Aquí vivió el genial guitarrista Paco de Lucia.

VISITA: Propiedad privada, visita exterior.

PALACE OF ETXE ZURIA - DURANGO

The Exte Zuria Palace of Durango is a beautiful masonry building, with classic-baroque layout, with beautiful heraldry, balconies and a large eaves decorate the facade; inside there is a gallery decorated with Daniel Zuloaga pottery. Here lived the great guitarist Paco de Lucia.

EL MERCADO DE ABASTOS – DURANGO

El mercado de abastos de Durango es un edificio de arquitectura ecléctica que aglutina elementos de distintas épocas y que tuvo su principal auge en los siglos XIX y XX, destacan sus pilares y columnas de sillares almohadillados, jarrones, arcos de medio punto, heráldica.

VISITA: Acceso factible casi todo el día – Hay escalones y rampas.

THE SUPPLY MARKET – DURANGO

The market of supplies of Durango is a building of eclectic architecture that brings together elements from different periods and that its main boom in the 19 th and 20 th centuries, highlight its pillars and columns of ashlar rugs, vases, arches, heraldic.

VISIT: Feasible access almost all day – There are steps and ramps.

ACCESO A DURANGO : A Durango puedes acceder por la N-634 o por la AP-8, Durango se ubica entre Bilbao y San Sebastián; en la N-634 te recomendamos coger la carretera de Vitoria BI-623, y salirte por la segunda glorieta con dirección a la oficina de turismo (cartel amarillo) y Durango centro (ver plano).

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS : Para los usuarios de silla de ruedas el acceso es factible a muchos monumentos (Arco de Santa Ana y Ayuntamiento), en otros tan solo se accede al entorno cercano como en el Palacio de Etexe Zuria (propiedad privada), hay algunos escalones en otros monumentos (iglesia de Santa Ana, Basílica de Santa María).

ACCESS : To Durango you can access by the N-634 or by the AP-8, Durango is located between Bilbao and San Sebastián, on the N-634 we recommend you take the Vitoria road BI-623 and exit through the second roundabout with direction to the tourist office (yellow signpost) and downtown Durango (see map).

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED : For wheelchair users access is feasible to many monuments (Arco de Santa Ana and City Hall), in others only the surrounding area is accessed as in Palae of Etxe Zuria (private property), there are some stpes in other monuments (church of Santa Ana and Basilica of Santa maria).
