NECRÓPOLIS DE MONTE AREO (CARREÑO)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Al parecer el nombre de Monte Areo se debe a la ubicación en este lugar de las “aras sextianas”, un monumento en honor de Augusto, en el 19 d.C., para conmemorar su victoria sobre los astures. Se trata de una espectacular necrópolis con alrededor de unos 30 túmulos, que pueden ser admirados por la ladera del monte. Se han identificado dólmenes de cámara cuadrada y trapezoidal, alguno es de corredor etc… Disponen de paneles explicativos. Datación del Neolítico. Las primeras excavaciones se realizan en el siglo XIX con González Besada y las continua Miguel Ángel de Blas en el siglo XX.

CASTRO DE LA CAMPA TORRES (GIJÓN)

Son muy interesantes las reproducciones de una casa romana y de otra prerromana. Además podemos admirar la muralla, así como pozos. El enclave es el solar de un castro prerromano y de un enclave romano; las excavaciones comenzaron en los años 70' con José Luis Maya y Juana Bellón y continuaron en los años 80' con José Luis Maya y Francisco Cuesta.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Se trata de un yacimiento ubicado al aire libre, visita sin límites de horarios, con entrada gratis. Si quieres visitar el Museo este tiene un horario de octubre a marzo de 10:00-17:00 y de abril a septiembre de 10:30 a 19:00, cerrando los lunes.

VILLA DE VERANES (GIJÓN)

La Villa de Veranes (Gijón) abrió sus puertas en el (2007). Es una villa romana de los siglos IV-V d.C., que dispone de un bello mosaico polícromo en el oecus, ahora cubierto por una estructura protectora, también disponía de granero, hornos, cocina, baños etc…

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Entrada general de 2,50 €, hay posibilidad de contratar un audioguia (1,50 €.). El horario de invierno (19 de septiembre – 15 de junio) es de 10:00-15:00; el horario de verano es de 10:30-19:00 y en semana santa es de 10:00-17:00 cerrando todos los lunes.

VILA OF VERANES (GIJÓN)

ACCESO A ENCLAVES - GIJÓN

UBICACIÓN

MTE AREO: Por la carretera AS-19 (Gijón-Candás) se accede a la CE-6, en la CE-6 (carretera de El Valle y Ambas) hay carteles para Monte Areo y la necrópolis.

CAMPA TORRES: Se ubica en la zona más noroccidental de la ciudad de Gijón el enclave tiene aparcamiento.

CAMPO VALDES: SE ubica en el centro de Gijón, en Cimadevilla, que es una peninsulilla, se sitúan en la playa de San Lorenzo, junto a la iglesia de San Pedro, cuya silueta es inconfundible en el paseo marítimo.

VERANES: Se ubica entre la AS-II (AS-18), la A-66 y la A-8; desde la AS-II se puede acceder por Salcedo, con un largo itinerario con abundante cartelería.

LOCATION

CAMPA TORRES: It is located in the most northwestern part of Gijón,. The site has a large parking.

CAMPO VALDES: it's located in the center of Gijón, in Cimadevilla area, that is a peninsula, it is located in the beach of San Lorenzo, next of the church of San Pedro, whose silhouette is unmistakable in the seafront.

VERANES: It is locatd between AS-II (AS-18), A-66 and A-8; from the AS-II can be accessed by Salcedo, with a long itinerary with enough signage.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

MTE AREO: El terreno es bastante plano, aunque el firme no es muy bueno, pero podrás visitarlo. CAMPA TORRES: Tiene un buen acceso para minusválidos pues una carretera cruza el yacimiento en dos. CAMPO VALDES: Bastante accesible para sillas de ruedas, aunque hay poca movilidad interior. VERANES: El enlosado de los caminos permite un acceso más fácil para discapacitados, pero no se puede acceder a todos los puntos con silla de ruedas.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED
