CASTELO DA LOUSÃ

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Los expertos creen que la edificación puede datar del (1080), ante el avance cristiano, pero fue reconquistado por los moros en (1124) y conquistado definitivamente por las tropas cristianas en (1147), es un castillo pequeño de planta hexagonal, dispone de 3 torres, murallas con adarve, sobresaliendo la torre de homenaje de planta cuadrada y almenada.

Scholars believe that the building can date from (1080), before the Christian advance, but it was reconquered by the Moors in (1124) and conquered definitely by the Christians in (1147), is a small castle of hexagonal plan, has 3 towers, walls with walkwall, standig out the keep of square plan and the battlements.

CASTILLO DE PENELA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castillo se ubica sobre un cerro granítico, adaptándose a la topografía del cerro, con elementos románicos y elementos góticos; predominando dos fases constructivas, en el siglo XIV se construyeron las murallas y 12 torres (4 aun se conservan hoy en día), mientras en el siglo XV se construyeron las torres del Reloj y de Castelejo.

CASTLE OF PENELA

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The castle is located on a granite hill adapting to the topography of the hill, with Romanesque and Gothic elements; predominanthing 2 phases of construction: in the 14th century built the walls and 12 towers (4 are still preserved today), while in the 15th century the towers of the Clock and Castelejo were built.

ACCESO A LOUSÃ

UBICACIÓN

El castillo de Lousã de ubica a unos 2 kilómetros del pueblo, justo en la margen derecha del río Arouce; mientras el castelo de Penela se ubica en el mismo pueblo.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

Los usuarios de sillas de ruedas, solo podrán ver el exterior del castelo da Lousã; y en cuanto al castelo de Penela podrás entrar dentro del castillo, accediendo por cuestas empinadas, pero no subir al adarve con silla de ruedas.

ACCESS TO LOUSÃ

LOCATION

The castle of Lousã is located around 2 Km (1,2 miles) of the town, just at the right bank of Arouce river; while the castle of Penela is located in the same village.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED

Wheelchairs users only can see the ouside of the castle of Lousã; and as far as the castle of Penela you can enter inside the castle, acceding by steep slopes, but not go up the wall-walk.
