MURALLA Y ALCAZAR ARABE (JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

Tenemos una muralla que se desarrolla a partir del Alcázar, con muros de 2.60 de ancho x 9 metros de altura, son de tapial, con elementos de ladrillo y cantería. Contaba además de 4 puertas, dentro tiene mezquita, baños y jardines. Cronología andalusí de inicios del siglo XII.

HORARIOS-ENTRADA

El horario de verano (1 julio – 15 septiembre) es de lunes a domingo de 9:10-19:30, el de otoño (16 septiembre – 31 octubre) es de 9:30-17:30, el horario de invierno (1 noviembre – 31 de marzo) es de 9:30-14:30 y el horario de primavera (1 de abril a 30 de junio) es de 9:30-17:30. Entrada general de 5€.

We have a wall that develops from the Alcázar, with walls of 2,60 m (8,5 ft) width x 9 m (29 ft) height, are of mudwall, with elements of brick and stonework. It also had 4 doors, inside we have mosque, bathrooms and gardens. Andalusí Chronology of start 12th century.

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

Summer timetable (July 1st – September 15 th ) is from Monday to Sunday from 9,10 to 7,30; the autumn timetable (September 16 th – October 31th) is from 9,30 to 5,30; the winter timetable (November 1st to March 31th) is from 9,30 to 2,30; and the spring timetable (April 1st to June 30th) is from 9,30 to 5,30. General rate € 5.

CATEDRAL DE JEREZ DELA FRONTERA

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

Es un edificio de los siglos XVII y XVIII, es de estilo barroco, pero también hay elementos góticos y neoclásicos, se construyó sobre la antigua mezquita; tiene 5 naves, dispone de 3 fachadas, en el crucero se eleva la cúpula octogonal, de unos 20 m. de altura, la torre campanario se alzó sobre el viejo minarete.

Horario de lunes a sábado de 10:00-18:30, entrada general de 5€, hay entradas reducidas.

CATHEDRAL OF JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

It is a building of the 16th and 18th centuries, it is of Baroque style, but there are also Gothic and Neoclassical elements, was built on the old mosque; has 5 naves, has 3 façades, in the crossin was erected the octagonal dome, about 20 m. (65 ft) height, the bell tower was built on the old minaret.

Opening hours from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 6,30 pm; General rate of € 5, there are reduced tickets.

S. DIONISIO AREOPAGITA (JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA)

La Real Iglesia de San Dionisio Areopagita de Jerez de la Frontera es una iglesia de estilo gótico-mudéjar datada en el siglo XV, dispone de 3 plantas con arcos góticos que acaban en ábside, donde en el siglo XVIII se coloco un retablo barroco. La fachada principal que da a la plaza es gótica.

VISITA : Horario de verano (5 de junio a 31 de agosto) es los laborables a las 13:00 y 20:00, los festivos a las 13:00. Horario de invierno, los laborables a las 13:00, 19:00 y festivos solo a las 13:00.

SAN DIONISIO AREOPAGITA (JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA)

The Royal church of San Dionisio Areopagita in Jerez de la Frontera is a church of Gothic-Mudejar style dating from the 15th century, has 3 floors with Gothic arches that end in the apse, where in the 18th century a baroque altarpiece was placed. The main façade that faces the square is Gothic.

VISIT : Sumer timetable (June 5 to August 31) is workdays at 13:00 and 20:00, holidays at 13:00. Winter timetable, workdays at 13:00 and 19.00 and holidays only at 13:00.

		GONZÁLEZ BYASS (JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA) Las bodegas de González-Byass de Jerez de la Frontera, ofrecen a los turistas una excepcional visita por sus instalaciones donde se fabrica el vino y el brandy de Jerez; son muy famosas las bodegas de La Concha diseñada por el conocido ingeniero francés Gustave Eiffel y la bodega de Los Apóstoles donde se conserva un inmenso tonel de 16.500 litros conocido como “El Cristo”. GONZALEZ BYASS (JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA) The Gonzalez-Byass wineries in Jerez de la Frontera offer tourists an excepcional visit to its installations where wine and brandy from Jerez are made; are very famous La Concha wineries designed by renowned French engineer Gustave Eiffel and Los Apostoles winery, where an inmense barrel of 16,500 liters, known as “El Cristo” is preserved. SAN MIGUEL (JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA)

La iglesia de San Miguel de Jerez de la Frontera, se data en el siglo XV, es de estilo gótico, pero además pueden verse elementos del plateresco y del barroco. En el interior vemos 3 naves, con bóveda de crucería gótica; mientras la cúpula con casetones es renacentista; además el visitante debe de detenerse en la Capilla del Sagrario y en el retablo mayor del siglo XVII.

SAN MIGUEL (JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA)

The church of San Miguel of Jerez de la Frontera, dating from the 15th century, is of Gothic style, but in addition elements of Plateresque and Baroque can be seen. In the inside we see 3 naves, with Gothic ribbed vault, while the dome with caissons is Renaissance; in addition, the visitor must stop in the chapel on the Tabernacle and in the main altarpece on the 17 th century.

MON. LOLA FLORES (JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA)

El monumento a Lola Flores de Jerez de la Frontera, se encuentra en la calle Ramón de Cala 15, en el barrio de San Miguel, es un sentido homenaje a “La Faraona”, la cantante jerezana, universal, muy cerca de la casa donde nació, la escultura de bronce de con 3,60 m. (11,8 ft) de altura es obra de Victor Ochoa.

VISITA : Exterior libre.

MON. LOLA FLORES (JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA)

The monument to Lola Flores of Jerez de la Frontera, is located on Ramón de Cala 15 street, in the neighborhood of San Miguel, is a tribute to “La Faraona”, the Jerez singer, universal, very close to the house where she was born, the bronze sculpture is 3.60 m. (11.8 ft) high is the work of Victor Ochoa.

VISIT : Outside free visit.

		ACCEDER A JEREZ UBICACIÓN Jerez de la Frontera se encuentra en la N-IV y en la AP-4 que unen Cádiz y Sevilla, para acceder a la zona monumental de Jerez es preferible acceder por la N-IV y coger la salida 641AB. Los monumentos se encuentran en el centro histórico, ver el plano. ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS Con silla de ruedas se puede visitar el interior de San Miguel, el monumento a Lola Flores; para la catedral hay un acceso lateral; pero no es factible el acceso al Alcázar (escalones) y a la iglesia de San Dionisio Areopagita.				ACCESS TO JEREZ LOCATION Jerez de la Frontera is located on the N-IV and AP-4 that connect the cities of Cádiz and Seville, to access the monumental area of Jerez is preferable to access by the road N-IV and take the exit 641AB. The monuments are located in the historic center, see the map. ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED With a wheelchair you can visit the inside of San Miguel, the monument to Lola Flores; for the cathedral there is a side access; but access to the Alcázar (steps) and to the church of San Dionisio Areopagita isn't feasible.
