CASTELO (POVOA DE LANHOSO)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Castelo de Povoa de Lanhoso se remonta al siglo IX-X, era de estilo prerrománico, pero fue muy dañado y fue reconstruido en el siglo XI, respetándose la planta prerrománica; fue nuevamente restaurado en el siglo XIII (tras un incendio), fue usado como cantera en el siglo XVII, pero en el siglo XIX fue restaurado. Se ubica sobre una gran roca, que sin duda dificultaba el acceso a los invasores.

The castle of Povoa de Lanhoso dates back to the 9-10 th centuries, it was of pre-Romanesque style, but it was very damaged and it was rebuilt in the 11 th century, respecting the pre-Romanesque plan; it was restored again in the 13 th century (after a fire), was used as a quarry in the 17 th century, but in the 19 th century it was restored. It is located on a large rock, which undoubtely hindered access to the invaders.

El Santuario del Pilar es un santuario construido en el siglo XVII, en la gran montaña granítica donde se encuentra el castillo de Povoa de Lanhoso, fue erigido por Don André da Silva Machado en (1680), es un edificio de sillería, con amplia escalinata de acceso, frontón de la puerta partido; y hornacina para la virgen.

The sanctuary of Pilar is a sanctuary built in the 17 th century, in the great granite mountain where the castle of Povoa de Lanhoso, was erected by Don André da Silva Machado in (1680), ia s ashlar masonry building, with a wide stairway of access, split pediment on the door, and nich for the virgin.

El Castro de Povoa de Lanhoso es un pequeño castro que se remonta a la Edad del Bronce, y pertenece a la cultura castreña galaico-portuguesa; conserva cabañas circulares y rectangulares construidas en piedra; algunas tienen vestíbulo de entrada, se han restaurado varias, que permiten visualizar su morfología original.

The Hillfort of Povoa de Lanhoso is a small fort that dates back to the Bronze Age, and belongs to the Galician-Portuguese Castilian culture; it conserves circular and rectangular cottages built in stone; some have entrance hall, several have been restored, allowing visualize their original morphology.

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

POVOA DE LANHOSO: Esta muy cerca de Braga. El mejor acceso se realiza por la nacional N-103 que va a Chaves, hay cartelería de acceso.

PEDRALVA: También cerca de la N-103 (Braga-Chaves) se ubica Pedralva, a pocos kilómetros de Braga.

POVOA DE LANHOSO: It is very close to Braga. The best access is by the national N-103 that goes to Chaves, there are access signs.

PEDRALVA: Also near the N-103 (Braga-Chaves) is Pedralva, a few kilometers from Braga.

POVOA DE LANHOSO: Para usuarios de silla de ruedas acceso no factible al castillo (escalera de acceso), al castro (zona escarpada) y al santuario (escaleras).

PEDRALVA: Acceso factible con silla de ruedas.
