El Palmeral de Elche es una de las grandes joyas que tiene España, con más de 200.000 ejemplares, es el palmeral más grande de Europa, además Elche es Patrimonio de La Humanidad desde el año (2000), fueron traídas por los musulmanes y prosperaron notablemente, siendo el conocido “Huerto del Cura” el lugar más espectacular, con ejemplares de más de 300 años.

PALM GROVE OF ELCHE

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The Palm grove of Elche is one of the great jewels that Spain has, with more than 200,000 trees, it is the largest palm grove in Europe, in addition it is Patrimony of the Humanity since the year (2000), they were brought by the Muslims and they prospered remarkably, being the well-known “Huerto del Cura” the most spectacular place, with specimens of more than 300 years.

PALACIO DE ALTAMIRA DE ELCHE

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Palacio de Altamira es conocido también como Alcázar de la Señoría, fue erigido en el s. XV, su planta es poligonal con una torre cuadrangular y torreones cilíndricos, es hoy en día el Museo Arqueológico Municipal, fundado por Don Alejandro Ramos Folqués.

HORARIOS-ENTRADA

Horario de lunes a sábado de 10:00 a 18:00, domingos y festivos es de 10:00 a 15:00, entrada general 3 €.

PALACE OF ALTAMIRA - ELCHE

Altamira Palace is also known as Alcazar de la Señoría, was built in 15 th century, has polygonal plan with a large square tower and cylindrical towers, today is the headquarters of the Municipal Archaeological Museum, founded by Don Alejandro Ramos Folqués.

Timetable from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm; Sundays and public holidays are from 10 am to 3 pm. Tickets € 3.

BASÍLICA DE SANTA MARÍA DE ELCHE

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

Sobre la mezquita mayor de Elche, se construyó en e siglo XIV una iglesia de estilo gótico y estuvo en pie hasta fines del siglo XV, un segundo templo se construyó en el siglo XVI, pero en el siglo XVII se hundió por unas lluvias muy intensas; el templo que hoy vemos se construyó en (1672) a (1784), es de planta de cruz latina, con 4 capillas, crucero cubierto de tejas azules; en el exterior predomina lo barroco y lo neoclásico.

Horario de lunes a domingo de 7:00 a 13:00 y de 17:30 a 21:00, entrada gratis.

BASILICA OF SANTA MARIA OF ELCHE

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

On the main mosque of Elche was built a Gothic church in the 14 th century; destroyed in 15 th century, a second temple was built in the 16 th century, but in the 17 th century the walls fell for intense rains; the temple that we see today was built in (1672) until (1784), has plan of Latin cross with 4 chapels, crossin covered by blue tiles; outside abounds the Baroque and Neoclassic style.

		LA ALCUDIA (ELCHE) INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA La Alcudia dispone de los restos de una gran ciudad ibérica de unas 10 Ha. Los restos materiales se conservan el en Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Elche, sobre todo la cerámica tardoibérica (s. II-I a.C.); siendo muy importantes los restos escultóricos recuperados de este yacimiento como la mismísima Dama de Elche, conservada en el Museo Arqueológico Nacional de Madrid. Las excavaciones arqueológicas han encontrado restos de época neolítica, del Bronce, pero sobre todo ibérica y romana, hasta época andalusí; la datación del (500-200 a.C.). ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS El horario es de martes a viernes de 10:00-20:00, los sábados de 10:00-17:00, domingos y festivos de 10:00-15:00. Entrada general 5 €, hay entradas reducidas. La visita puede durar hasta 2 horas por su extensión.				SITE OF LA ALCUDIA (ELCHE) HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION La Alcudia has the remains of large Iberian city of around 10 Ha. The material remains are preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Elche, especially the Late-Iberian ceramics (2 nd -1 st BC). Being very important the sculptural remains recovered of this site like the famous Dama de Elche, preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid. The archaeological excavations have allowed to find rest of Neolithic time, of the Bronze Age, but mainly Iberian and Roman, arriving until Andalusi time; the chronology is concentrated in (500-200 BC). TICKETS AND TIMETABLE The timetable are from Tuesday to Friday from 10 to 8, Saturdays from 10 to 5, Sundays and holidays from 10 to 3. General rate € 5, there are reduced tickets. The visit can last up to 2 hours.

		ACCESO A ELCHE ACCESO Elche se encuentra muy cerca de Alicante capital, unida por la A-70 y el Palmeral se encuentra en el centro de Elche, el Palacio se encuentra en el centro de Elche junto al río Vinalopó y la basílica de Santa María a tan solo 50 metros del Palacio de Altamira. LA ALCUDIA: Acceso muy sencillo pues se sitúa a las afueras de Elche, junto al río Vinalopó, por la carretera que va a Dolores (AP-3061 O CV-855) a 3 Km. de Elche. ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS El acceso es factible al Palmeral, al Palacio de Altamira y a la basílica de Sª. María. LA ALCUDIA: El acceso es factible a amplias zonas para sillas de ruedas.				ACCESS TO ELCHE LOCATION Elche is located very near to Alicante capital, joined by the A-70 and the Palm grove is in the center of Elche, the palace is in the center of Elche next to the Vinalopó River and the basilica of Santa Maria is just 50 meters (164 ft) from the Altamira Palace. LA ALCUDIA: Easy access because it is located on the outskirts of Elche, next to the river Vinalopó, by the road that goes to Dolores (AP-3061 or CV.855) to 3 Km (1,8 miles) from Elche. ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED Suitable access to the Palm grove, Altamira palace and the basilica of Santa María. LA ALCUDIA: Feasible access to wide areas for wheelchairs.
