CALZADA DEL PUERTO DEL PICO

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Magnífica calzada romana (siglos I-V d.C.) ubicada justo en el paso de la Meseta Norte a la Meseta Sur, para conectar Abula y Toletum. Fue cañada y camino de carretería, quizás por todo ello se ha conservado aceptablemente bien.

No hay horarios, entrada gratuita.

ACCESO

El tramo más conocido se ubica en la N-502, al norte de Cuevas del Valle, el puerto de montaña esta indicado y hay aparcamiento.

ACCESO A MINUSVÁLIDOS

Es muy difícil bajar a la calzada con silla de ruedas, pero desde el mirador hay una buena panorámica.

ROMAN ROAD OF PUERTO DEL PICO

It is very to get down to the Roman road with a wheelchair, but from the viewpoint there is a good panoramic view.

The church of La Natividad of Cuevas del Valle is of Gothic style, dated in the 15 th c., built in ashlar and masonry; has big buttresses and a belltower made of bricks.

La iglesia actual es en buena parte obra de Don Beltrán de la Cueva, quien mando construir la iglesia en el siglo XV, pese a que ya en el siglo XIV tenemos en el lugar una capilla, en el siglo XV, se erigieron las 3 naves; destacando en su interior el grupo escultórico de la Virgen de las Angustias.

THE CHURCH OF SAN JUAN BAUTISTA (MOMBELTRÁN)

CASTILLO DE MOMBELTRÁN

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castillo de los duques de Alburquerque es un castillo del siglo XV. Tiene barbacana, con un fuerte talud, merlones, etc.. El foso fue tapado y en origen tuvo puente levadizo. El acceso se realiza por un arco mixtilíneo de grandes dovelas con matacanes y dos torres con escudos. Dentro hay caballerizas, bodegas, mazmorras, aljibe etc…

CASTLE OF MOMBELTRÁN

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The castle of the dukes of Alburquerque is a castle from 15 th century. Has a barbican, with strong slope, battlements, etc... The moat was covered, originally was a drawbridge. The access by an ogival arch with voussoirs, machicolations and 2 towers with shields. Inside we have the horse stables, wineries, dungeons, cisterns etc...

A Mombeltrán se accede por la N-502 (Ávila-Talavera de la Reina), el castillo se ubica a las afueras del pueblo.

Las escaleras estrechas y las escaleras de caracol impiden el acceso a estancias superiores a los usuarios de sillas de ruedas.

CASTILLO DE LA ADRADA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castillo de la Adrada es de fines del siglo XIV, tiene 2 recintos amurallados, incluso foso y puente levadizo, con un acceso muy pintoresco; en el siglo XV se erigió la torre de homenaje, dentro puede verse una iglesia en ruinas y un aljibe.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Tarifa general de 3 €, con tarifas reducidas para estudiantes, menores y jubilados. Horario de martes a viernes de 10:30-17:00 y sábados y domingos de 10:30-15:00.

The castle of La Adrada is of late 14 th century, has 2 enclosure, includes moat and drawbridge, with a very beautiful access gate; in the 15 th century was built the keep, inside you can see the remains of a church and a cistern.

Rate of €3, with reduced tickets for students, young boys and retirees. Timetable from Tuesday to Friday from 10,30 am to 5 pm and Saturdays and Sundays 10,30 am to 3 pm.

ACCESO

Desde Madrid puedes coger la carretera M-501, dirección San Martín de Valdeiglesias y después Plasencia. El castillo de La Adrada se encuentra hoy rodeado de urbanizaciones, pero indicado, junto a la gasolinera veras un cartel, tiene un amplio aparcamiento.

ACCESO A MINUSVÁLIDOS

Acceso no apto para sillas de ruedas, hay muchas rampas y desniveles (solo con ayuda podrías visitar la planta baja).
