Medinaceli: Monumentos y Turismo


		MEDINACELI: Es una pequeña localidad ubicada sobre un cerro, al pie del río Jalón. Medinaceli tiene orígenes celtibéricos, del paso de los romanos tenemos un mosaico y un monumental arco romano, pero casi todo es medieval con la muralla y su puerta árabe, el castillo, la sinagoga y varias iglesias. No faltan los monumentos de la edad Moderna (Alhóndiga, Palacio Ducal y el convento); además sus callejuelas son muy pintorescas y bonitas, invitando a un paseo calmado; por todo ello Medinaceli es Conjunto Histórico.		MEDINACELI: It is small town located on a hill, at the foot of the Jalón River. Medinaceli has Celtiberian origins, from the passage of the Romans we have a mosaic and a monumental Roman arch, but almost everything is medieval with the wall and its Arab gate, the castle, the synagogue and various churches. There is no lack of monuments from the Modern Age (Cornfield, Ducal Palace and the convent); in addition, its streets are very picturesque and beautiful, inviting you to a calm walk; for all this Medinaceli is a Historical Complex.


		MEDINACELI: Medinaceli se encuentra junto a la A-2 (Madrid-Zaragoza), en el tramo entre Guadalajara y Calatayud. Medinaceli también tiene contacto con la capital, con Soria, por la carretera A-15. 		MEDINACELI: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay un parking grande, junto al arco romano. El aparcamiento es gratuito. La ubicación del aparcamiento recomendado es muy cercana. Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos. 		MEDINACELI: La zona donde se concentran los monumentos es el (Centro Histórico). Ver plano Vernur. Aquí podemos ver algunos monumentos: (convento de las Clarisas, colegiata, sinagoga y castillo). La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 600 m. La visita se desarrolla por un espacio plano. Vernur recomienda que no olvides llevar calzado cómodo y confortable, ropa acorde al clima, un buen sombrero y no olvides hidratarte. 		MEDINACELI: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de piedra). Medinaceli tiene un firme empedrado óptimo para silla de ruedas. Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona plana. No hay aceras. Visita factible al exterior de las murallas, la sinagoga y del arco romano. La colegiata tiene un pequeño escalón, pero no impide el acceso al interior. La tecnología de las sillas de ruedas ha avanzado mucho, cada vez más ligeras, hay modelos plegables, con todo tipo de adaptaciones, trata de conseguir una moderna, incluso hay ciudades donde se pueden alquilar, contacta con nosotros para añadir información. 		MEDINACELI: Una de sus fiestas más conocidas es el Toro Jubilo (12-13 de noviembre), que es un toro de fuego. No hay muchas áreas recreativas, por lo que es complicado encontrar una zona para comer, pero tenemos un merendero en el PK.149 de la N-II muy frecuentado por camioneros con una fuente de agua, que puede ser ideal si solo quieres parar un rato. No nos cansamos de recordar que uses calzado cómodo, ropa adaptada al clima, un buen sombrero y una mochila ligera de peso, con agua para hidratarte. El arco romano de Medinaceli es un arco triple, es un arco de triunfo, que repite el modelo del arco de Trajano, está construido en opus quadratum, con magníficos sillares, fue puerta de acceso a la ciudad.

		INFO HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA Las murallas de Medinaceli son un conjunto de obras de diversas épocas, posiblemente las primeras murallas sean celtibéricas, después los romanos y los árabes dejaron su impronta. Sabemos que Abderramán III reconstruyó la muralla en el siglo X, de esta época es el conocido “arco árabe”; después Alfonso I el Batallador restauro de nuevo la muralla en el siglo XII.
