MURALLAS DE VINHAIS

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El casco histórico de Vinhais conserva las murallas (parcialmente almenadas), así como algunas torres y entradas.

Las murallas son de época del rey Dinos, del siglo XIV, Dentro de las murallas esta la casa da Vila, donde se encuentra el Centro Interpretativo de Montesinho.

VINHAIS WALLS

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The historic center of Vinhais still preserves the walls (partially battlemented) you can see some towers, recognize the entrances.

The walls are from times of king Dinos, from 14 th century. Inside the walls stands out the House of the Vila, where is located the Interpretative Center of Montesinho.

Pasear por Vinhais puede deparar muchas sorpresas veremos cruceiros como los de Galicia, fuentes ornamentales con azulejería, muy típicas de Portugal.

Dentro de la ciudadela se encuentra la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción y fuera del casco antiguo la iglesia de San Facundo de origen visigótico, aunque de estilo románico.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Walk through Vinhais can bring many surprises, we will see “cruceiros” (a cross on a column), and like those from Galicia, ornamental fountains with tile decoration, very typical of Portugal.

Inside the citadel is the church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção and outside the old town the church of San Facundo of Visigothic origin, although in Romanesque style.

UBICACIÓN - VINHAIS

Vinhais se ubica entre Bragança y Chaves, se accede por la N-103. La Casa da Vila se ubica en el tramo más occidental de la muralla. A la iglesia de San Facundo se accede desde la plaza triangular ubicada en la N-103 junto a la ciudadela, coger la R. do Baixo es una calle empedrada, que baja, llegando a un punto donde se bifurca en 2 caminos asfaltados, coger el de la derecha que lleva a una glorieta, salir por la segunda salida y después el primer camino a la izquierda lleva a San Facundo.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

Acceso factible a la ciudadela, con silla de ruedas. Acceso factible con silla de ruedas a la iglesia de San Facundo, solo hay un escalón.

LOCATION - VINHAIS

The village of Vinhais is located between Bragança and Chaves, it is accessible by the N-103; House of the Vila is located on the most western section on the wall. For to go to San Facundo take in the triangular square located on N-103 (next citadel) the R. Do Baixo a stoned street, which go down, and arrive to a junction with 2 asphalted roads, take the right road, that go to a roundabout, go out by the second exit and after the first road on the left do to San Facundo.
