		CASTILLO DE TRUJILLO INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA El castillo se construyo con sillares de origen romano, dispone de 2 partes el patio de armas (planta cuadrangular) y la Albacara para el ganado (planta hexagonal); el castillo tiene sus orígenes en el siglo IX, el acceso al patio de armas se hacia por un arco de herradura con 2 torres albarranas, esta puerta sufrió reformas en el siglo XVI; dentro podemos encontrar 2 aljibes, dentro de la albacara hay una ermita del siglo XVI. En la muralla sobresale la puerta de San Andrés, dotada de un arco apuntado y almenada, ejecutada en una recia sillería.

		IGLESIA DE SANTA MARIA DE TRUJILLO INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA Dentro de la muralla de la parte alta también tenemos la iglesia de Santa María la Mayor, que aunque data del siglo XIII, sus elementos románicos aparecen difuminados por las reconstrucciones del siglo XV y XVI de estilo gótico, dentro sobresale un retablo de fines del siglo XV obra de Fernando Gallego y del Maestro Bartolomé, con 25 magníficos óleos en tabla; así mismo vale la pena detenerse en contemplar las lápidas correspondientes a los más legendarios linajes de la ciudad, los Pizarro, los Orellana, Altamirano etc…, así como la tumba de Diego García de Paredes, militar español “El Sansón de Extremadura”. ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS El acceso a la iglesia de Santa María la Mayor cuesta 1,50 €, el horario de verano (abril-mayo) es de 10:00-14:00 y de 17:00-20:00 y el de invierno (noviembre-marzo) es de 10:00-14:00 y de 16:30-19:30. En la parte baja se ubica la bonita plaza mayor de Trujillo, la Oficina de Turismo y la estatua de Francisco Pizarro el famoso conquistador español. Destacando aquí la iglesia de San Martín de Tours del siglo XVI, que tiene unas bonitas bóvedas de crucería.

Hay que tener presente que existe un fuerte desnivel entre la parte ubicada en el cerro (casco histórico) y la parte baja. ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS Podrás acceder con coche hasta la cima, donde hay un aparcamiento, después el casco histórico es complicado para sillas de ruedas, por el empedrado y las cuestas. A San Martín de Tours y a Santa María no podrás acceder en silla de ruedas.
