MURALLA DE SANFINS (PAÇOS DA FERREIRA)

Es una de las más grandes y famosas citanias galaico-portugués, una autentica ciudad celta, la datación principal es de los siglos V-III a.C.

Hacia el siglo II fue conquistado por Decimo Junio Bruto y convertido en base de operaciones de la conquista de Gallaecia; a pesar de su importancia (se pretende su declaración como Patrimonio de la Humanidad), el yacimiento esta altamente invadido por la vegetación

It is one of the largest and most famous Galician-Portuguese citanias, an authentic Celtic city, the main dating is of the 5 th to 3 rd BC.

Towards the 2 nd century was conquered by Decimo Junio Brutus and became the base of operations of the conquest of Gallaecia and capital of the region; Despite its importance (it is intended as a World Heritage Site), the site is highly invaded by vegetation.

En las 15 hectáreas que ocupa este oppidum, se han documentado casi un centenar de construcciones circulares, algunas simples, otras con vestíbulo.

En las casas reconstruidas puede apreciarse la técnica constructiva con un entramado de vigas de madera y ramajes cubriendo la estructura.

In the 15 hectares occupied by this oppidum, almost one hundred circular constructions have been discovered, some simple, some with vestibule.

In the reconstructed houses you can appreciate the building technique with a structure of wooden beams and branches covering the structure.

El complejo termal o forno galaico, permitía tomar baños, son típicos de los baños iniciativos de los guerreros celtas.

El forno dispone de una bonita pedra fermosa , a modo de entrada o fachada, de un caldarium donde se tomaban los baños y de un horno donde se calentaba el agua que era traída por conducciones desde un manantial cercano.

We also have a thermal complex known as a Galician oven, where they could take baths and which are typical of the initiatory baths of Celtic warrios.

The forno has a beautiful stone “pedra fermosa”, just at the entrance like façade, a caldarium where they took the baths and a oven where the water was heated that was brought by pipes from a nearby spring.

ACCESO

Desde la A-42 coge la salida 3 (Paços de Ferreira), entras en la N-209, todo recto; llegas a un cruce en forma de “T”, indicando ya la dirección a “Sanfins”, a derecha; y muy cerca en una bifurcación coge el camino de la izquierda; llegas a una glorieta rectangular (sin cartelería), aquí debes salir por la segunda salida; llegas a otra glorieta, coge la primera salida; todo recto durante varios kilómetros hasta llegar a un semáforo, con cartelería.

Llegamos a una glorieta señalizada, la pasamos recto; después a una bifurcación (sin cartel), cogemos el camino de la izquierda; llegamos a una glorieta con un árbol en el centro, salimos por la 2ª salida, como indica el cartel; después a una iglesia blanca, con una torre, con una bifurcación, coge el camino de la derecha, hasta que veas el cartel para “Sanfins” a la izquierda.

From A-42 take the exit 3 (Paços de Ferreira) you enter at N-209; all straight, you arrive at a crossroad in T-shape, indicating already the direction “Sanfins”, turn right; and very near in a fork take the road on the left; you arrive to a rectangular roundabout (without signage), here you must leave by the second exit; you arrive to another roundabout, take the first exit; Go straight for several kilometers until reaching to a traffic light, with signpost.

We arrive to a indicated roundabout, we passed it straight, we arrive at a fork (without signage), take the road on the left; we arrived at a roundabout with a tree in the center, we go out by the seconf exit, like indicate the signpost; we arrive at a white church with a tower in the fork take the road on the right, until see the signposte for “Sanfins” on the left.
