LA MURALLA ROMANA DE LUGO

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Es la mejor muralla romana conservada de la Península Ibérica. Es Patrimonio de la Humanidad desde el año 2000 y esta hermanada con la Gran Muralla China desde (2007). Dispone de un camino de ronda que permite verla por el exterior; incluso los lucenses caminan por el adarve. La muralla tiene una longitud de 2.266 metros con 85 torres, con 10 puertas de acceso. Las torres tenían ventanales pues se han conservado arcos en la famosa Torre de La Mosqueira; construida en pizarra, usando el granito para las puertas de acceso. El acceso al adarve se realiza por 16 escaleras. Datación siglo III d.C.

THE ROMAN WALLS OF LUGO

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Is the best conserved Roman wall of the Iberian Peninsula. It is World Heritage since (2000) and has been twinned with the Great Wall of China since (2007). It has a round road that allows to see it from the outside; even the people of Lugo walk along the wall walk (the top). The wall has a length of 2,666 meters (8746 ft) with 85 towers, with 10 access gates. We know that the towers had windows because arches have been preserved in the Tower of La Mosqueira; is built on slate, using granite for access gates. The access to wall walk is possible by 16 stairs. Dated in 3 rd century.

TERMAS DE LUGO

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Las termas de la ciudad de Lugo son monumento Histórico-Artístico desde (1931). El apodyterium se construyo con sillarejo de pizarra, todavía pueden verse las hornacinas. Otra interesante sala es el caldarium de baños calientes. El edificio esta bien musealizado con pasarelas e iluminación. Cronología de los siglos I-II d.C.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Entrada gratuita. Horarios de lunes a sábado de 9:00-21:00 y festivos y domingos de 9:00-13:00.

BATHS OF LUGO

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The thermal baths of Lugo city are Historic-Artisitic Monument since (1931). The nice apodyterium was built with masonry of slate, the niches can still be seen. Another interesting room is the caldarium for hot baths. The building is very well conditioned with walkways and lighting. Chronology of 1 st -2 nd centuries AD.

Free entrance. Opening hours from Monday to Saturday, from 9 am – 9 pm; and holidays and Sundays from 9 am – 1 pm.

PUENTE ROMANO DE LUGO

Se trata de un puente romano que ha sufrido muchas restauraciones en los siglos XII, XIV, XVIII y XIX, que permitía conectar Lugo con la ciudad portuguesa de Braga.

It is a Roman bridge, which has undergone many restorations in 12 th , 14 th , 17 th and 19 th centuries, which allowed to connect Lugo with the Portuguese city of Braga.

UBICACIÓN - LUGO

MURALLA: Dirigirse siempre al centro de la ciudad, incluso puedes ascender al adarve de la muralla.

TERMAS: Las termas de Lugo están a 900 metros del centro de la ciudad, desde la muralla se puede acceder por la calle de Santiago, localizándose junto al río Miño, en la carretera de Madrid. Las termas se encuentran en el interior del balneario de Lugo.

PUENTE: Desde las murallas de Lugo se accede por la calle de Santiago. Puente peatonalizado. Aparcar en la zona es complicado.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

MURALLAS: En la Puerta de Santiago hay una rampa para subir a la parte superior.

TERMAS Y PUENTE: Es accesible para sillas de ruedas.

WALLS: Always go to the center of the city, you can even go up to wall walk.

BATHS: The thermal baths of Lugo are 900 meters (2952 ft) from the city center, from the wall can be accessed by the street of Santiago, located next to Minho river, on the road to Madrid. The Roman thermal baths are located just inside of Lugo's Spa.

BRIDGE: From the wall is accessed by the street of Santiago. It has been pesdestrianized. However parking in the area is difficult.
