Ciudad Rodrigo hunde sus raíces en la Edad del Hierro, un verraco que se conserva en sus calles, da prueba de ello; en el centro de la ciudad tenemos el bonito ayuntamiento de estilo plateresco, del siglo XVI. Es un edificio muy original con doble arquería de arcos rebajados, contrafuertes cilíndricos, con pináculos y espadaña con campana.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

La entrada al ayuntamiento es gratuita, con horarios de lunes a viernes de 10:00-14:00 y de 17:30-20:30.

Pero sobre todo sobresale la muralla; el recinto tiene un perímetro oval de 2 Km., iniciadas en el siglo XII, fueron reformadas en el siglo XV, pero lo visible hoy es mayoritariamente del siglo XVIII y XIX; esta muralla tiene mucha historia pues en 1810 los franceses cercaron a 6.000 salmantinos, los cuales tuvieron que capitular ante los 50.000 hombres del mariscal Massena, incluso hoy en día pueden verse los impactos de los cañones franceses.

CASTILLO DE CIUDAD RODRIGO

El castillo de Enrique II de Trastámara, es básicamente una torre de homenaje de planta cuadrada, de 17 m. de lado, con 2 pisos, que se data en el siglo XIV.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Es Parador Nacional de Turismo, pero hay visitas guiadas a las 13:00 horas, de lunes a domingo, con una duración de 30 minutos.

CASTLE OF CIUDAD RODRIGO

CATEDRAL DE CIUDAD RODRIGO

La catedral se data en los ss. XII-XIV, destaca el Pórtico del Perdón de estilo románico, en las fachadas y bóvedas de crucería de estilo gótico y en la sillería de coro labrada en madera de nogal de estilo plateresco.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

La entrada a la catedral son 3 € (hay entradas reducidas), y el horario general es de lunes (11:30-14:00), de martes a sábado (11:30-14:00 y 16:00-19:00) y domingos y festivos es (12:45-14:00 y 16:00-18:00).
