CASTRO DE SALDEANA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castro de Saldeana es un castro vetón, se ve muy bien la muralla pese a la maleza; así como, la barrera de piedras hincadas, ideada para defenderse de las torretas móviles que se hacían en la Edad del Hierro; algo más difícil es encontrar los petroglifos (hay uno muy curioso tipo esvástica). Las vistas en el cañón del río Huebra, en la parte posterior del yacimiento son espectaculares

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The hillfort of Saldeana is a Veton hillfort, the wall is very well seen despite the vegetation; as well as the barrier of stones, designed to defend itself against the mobile turrets that were made in the Iron Age; something more difficult is to find the petroglyphs (there is a very curious swastika type). The views in the gorge of the Huebra River in the back of the site are spectacular.

TESO DE SAN CRISTOBAL (VILLARINO)

El Teso de San Cristóbal fue el solar de un castro vetón, posteriormente, se construyó una ermita y se hicieron tumbas.

El paisaje del entorno permite ver el cañón del río Tormes en su tramo final, con una espectacularidad única, que hace las delicias de cualquier amante de la fotografía.

The Teso (hill) of San Cristobal was the site of a Veton hillfort, later was built a hermitage and some tombs.

The surrounding landscape allows you to see the gorge of the Tormes River in its final stretch, with a unique spectacularity, ideal for photography lovers.

ERMITA DEL CASTILLO (PEREÑA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

En este lugar nos encontramos con una ermita, no muy importante, pero el enclave esta lleno de grandes berrocales graníticos y de unas panorámicas de los arribes, de gran belleza. Antiguamente junto a la ermita vivió un ermitaño que enseñaba el cerro a los visitantes. Otro enclave espectacular es el mirador del Pozo de los Humos, con una espectacular cascada.

HERMITAGE OF EL CASTILLO (PEREÑA)

In this site we find a hermitage, not very important, but the site is full of granite rock balls (berrocales) and Arribes views of great beauty. In the past, next to the hermitage, lived a hermit who taught the hill to the visitors. Another spectacular site is the viewpoint of Pozo de los Humos, with a spectacular waterfall.

UBICACIÓN

SALDEANA: Saldeana se encuentra entre Vitigudino y Lumbrales. El Castillo de Saldeana es un castro ubicado a 1 kilómetro de distancia al SW del pueblo, Si quieres ver el cañón del Huebra el sendero es muy complicado, precaución. VILLARINO: A la entrada del pueblo de Villarino hay un cartel para el teso al que se llega por un camino de 3 kilómetros. Importante las rocas del teso son resbaladizas y pueden causar accidentes graves, por la presencia de fuertes precipicios, precaución extrema. PEREÑA: En Pereña encontraremos indicadores que conducen a la ermita de nuestra señora del Castillo. Respecto al Pozo de los Humos, el camino de 1,7 Km. puede estar cerrado (por motivos de conservación de especies protegidas), por lo que tendrás que hacer el camino a pie.

Saldeana, Pereña y Villarino son imposibles para sillas de ruedas.

LOCATION

SALDEANA: Saldeana is located between Vitigudino and Lumbrales. The Castillo de Saldeana is a hillfort located 1 kilometer (0,62 miles) away from the SW of the village. If you want to see the Huebra's gorge the path is very complicated, caution. VILLARINO: At the entrance of the village of Villarino there is a sign for the Teso (hill) that is accessible for a road of 3 kilometers (1,8 miles); attention, Hill's rocks are slippery and can cause serious accidents, by the presence of strong cliffs, extreme caution. PEREÑA: In Pereña we will find signpostes that lead to the chapel of Nuestra Señora del Castillo. Regarding the Pozo de los Humos, the way of 1,7 Km (1 mile) may be closed (for protected species conservation reasons), so you will have to make the way on foot.
