COLEGIATA DE Sª MARIA (BORJA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La colegiata de Santa María de Borja; tiene elementos de distintas épocas pues se inicio en el románico (siglo XII) y se culmino en el barroco (s. XVIII); construida en ladrillo salvo la base de la torre de sillería (de estilo mudéjar); la iglesia tiene una única nave cubierta con bóveda de cañón, cabecera poligonal y capillas de los siglos XVI y XVII.

The collegiate-church of Santa Maria of Borja it has elements from different periods because it started in the Romanesque (12 th century) and was completed in the Baroque (18 th century); built in brick excepet the base of the tower, with ashlar masonry (Mudejar style); the church has a single nave covered with a barrel vault, a polygonal head and chapels from the 16 th and 17 th centuries.

CASTILLO DE LA ZUDA (BORJA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castillo de la Zuda de Borja, es de los siglos XIV y XV, el solar fue empleado por celtiberos, romanos y visigodos, la Guerra entre los Dos Pedros en el siglo XIV produjo fuertes daños, tras la cual fue reformado; estado de conservación ruinoso.

CASTLE OF LA ZUDA (BORJA)

The castle of the Zuda of Borja, is from the 14 th and 15 th centuries, the site was used by Celtiberians, Romans and Visigoths; the War between the 2 Pedros in the 14 th century produced heavy damage, after which it was renovated; ruinous conservation state.

IGLESIA DE SAN LORENZO (MAGALLÓN)

La iglesia de San Lorenzo de Magallón es de estilo gótico tardío, data del siglo XVI, siendo culminada en el siglo XVII; en el interior destaca la amplitud de esta “iglesia salón” (Hallenkirche) y la capilla del Santo Cristo de estilo barroco y del siglo XVIII; en el exterior destaca, la torre campanario fue al parecer la torre de homenaje de un castillo.

The church of San Lorenzo of Magallón is late Gothic, dates from the 16 th century, being completed in the 17 th century; inside we stand out the width of this “church hall” (Hallenkirche) and the chapelle of the Santo Cristo of baroque style, from 18 th century; outside it stands out the bell tower that was apparently the keep of the castle.

La ermita del Rosario de Magallón, es una construcción de estilo barroco, data del siglo XVII-XVIII; construida en ladrillo; en el interior tiene nave única, destacando el retablo mayor con las imágenes de la Virgen del Rosario y de Nuestro Señor Crucificado; en el exterior destaca la fachada con arco mixtilineo y frontón curvo partido.

The hermitage of Rosario of Magallón, is a building of Baroque style, dates from the 17 th -18 th centuries; built in brick; inside it has a single nave; highlighting the main altarpiece with the images of the Virgin of the Rosary and Our Lord Crucified; outside it stand out the facade with mixtilineal curved arch and split pediment.

La iglesia de San Pedro de Gallur, es un edificio de estilo neoclásico, levantado en el siglo XVIII, sobre una iglesia anterior barroca del siglo XVII; construida en ladrillo y sillarejo; destaca en el interior las 3 naves, cubierta con bóveda de cañón con lunetos y las laterales con bóveda de arista; en el exterior destaca la portada con arco de medio punto, pilastras y hornacina; así como la torre de planta cuadrada.

The church of San Pedro of Gallur, is a building of neoclassic style, erected in the 18 th century, on a baroque former church of the 17 th century; built in brick and rubblework masonry; inside it stands out the 3 naves, cover with barrel vault with lunettes and the aisles covers with groin vault¸ outside we stand out the façade with round arch, pilasters and niche; as well as the square-plan tower.

ACCESO A CARRETERA (BORJA)

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

Borja y Magallón se encuentran en la N-122, accediéndose muy bien desde la salida 19 de la AP-68, que también permite acceder a Gallur.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS:

Con silla de ruedas acceso no factible al castillo de Borja (terreno escarpado), a la colegiata de Santa María de Borja (escalones y escalón interior ) y a la iglesia de San Pedro de Gallur (escalones).

La iglesia de S Lorenzo de Magallón, se ha dotado de una rampa lateral para mejorar el acceso a sillas de ruedas y tiene portón muy amplio.

ACCESS BY ROAD (BORJA)

LOCATION

Borja and Magallón are on the N-122, accessing very well from the exit 19 of the AP-68, which also allows access to Gallur.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

With wheelchair access not feasible to Borja castle (steep terrain), to the collegiate church of Santa María of Borja (stairs ans inside step) and to the church of San Pedro de Gallur (steps).

While the church of San Lorenzo de Magallón, has been equipped with a side ramp to improve access to wheelchairs and has a large gate.
