PUENTE ROMÁNICO - PUENTE LA REINA

El puente románico de Puente la Reina, fue construido por orden de Doña Mayor (esposa de Sancho Garcés III de Navarra), en el siglo XI; el puente cruza el río Arga y facilita el paso a los peregrinos; el puente tiene 6 arcos de medio punto, mide 110 m. de largo y 4 m. de ancho; antiguamente tenia 3 torreones, 2 a los lados y uno central, donde en el siglo XVI se custodiaba la imagen de la virgen del Puy, visitada, según la leyenda, por el Txori (pájaro en vasco).

ROMANESQUE BRIDGE – PUENTE LA REINA

The Romanesque bridge of Puente la Reina, was built by order of Doña Mayor (wife of Sancho Garces III of Navarre), in the 11 th century; the bridge crosses the river Arga and facilitates the passage to the pilgrims; the bridge has 6 semicircular arches, measures 110 m. (360. ft) long and 4 m. (13 ft) wide; formerly it had 3 towers, 2 to the sides and a central tower, where in the 16 th century the image of the virgin of the Puy was housed, visited according to the legend by the Txori (bird in Basque).

IGLESIA DE SANTIAGO – PUENTE LA REINA

La iglesia de Santiago (Puente la Reina), data del siglo XII, es de estilo románico, sobresaliendo su portada románica, del siglo XIII; pero la iglesia fue derribada y ampliada en el siglo XVI, por la expansión demográfica de este pueblo; posteriormente se construyó en el siglo XVIII el claustro.

VISITA : Horario de lunes a domingo de 10:30 a 19:30.

CHURCH OF SANTIAGO – PUENTE LA REINA

The church of santiago (Puente la Reina), dating from the 12 th century, is Romanesque style, with its Romanesque portal, dating from the 13 th century; but the church was demolished and enlarged in the 16 th century, by the demographic expansion of this town; later the cloister was built in the 18 th century.

VISIT : Timetable Monday to Sunday from 10:30 to 7:30 pm.

IGLESIA DE S. PEDRO – PUENTE LA REINA

La iglesia de San Pedro (Puente la Reina), es un templo datado en el siglo XIV, es de estilo gótico; con reformas posteriores sobre todo del siglo XVI; en su interior hay que admirar los retablos.

VISITA : En verano el horario de misas es los festivos a las 19:30.

CHURCH OF S. PEDRO – PUENTE LA REINA

The church of San Pedro (Puente la Reina) is a temple dating from the 14 th century, is Gothic, with subsequent reforms especially of the 16 th century; inside you have to admire the altarpieces.

VISIT : In summer the timetable of Masses is in holidays at 7:30.

NUESTRA SEÑORA DE EUNATE

La iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Eunate se data en el siglo XII, es de estilo Románico, se cree que pudo ser construida por los templarios y la orden de San Juan; es un templo de planta octogonal, con ábside pentagonal; en el claustro exterior (con 33 arcos) las excavaciones parecen indicar que hubo un cementerio de peregrinos.

VISITA : Horario de verano (10:30-14:00 y 16:00-20:00), resto del año (10:30-14:00 y 15:00-19:00).

NUESTRA SEÑORA OF EUNATE

The church of Nuestra Señora (Our Lady) of Eunate dates back to the 12 th century, it is of Romanesque style, it is believed that it could be built by the Templars and the order of Saint John; it is a temple with an octagonal plan, with pentagonal apse; in the outer cloister (with 33 arches) the excavations seem to indicate that there was a pilgrims cemetery.

VISIT : Summer time (10:30-2:00 and 4:00-8:00) rest of the year (10:30-2:00 and 3:00-7:00).

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

Podemos admirar, las estructuras de una presa romana de 150 metros de longitud con contrafuertes, arquetas de regulación del agua y ya en la ciudad el castellum aquae, o depósito de recepción del agua; donde veremos además, calles, viviendas, termas. El yacimiento cuenta con un pequeño museo. La cronología del yacimiento de Andelos es básicamente romana, especialmente entre finales del siglo I y finales del siglo II d.C.

Horario de invierno (octubre-marzo) es viernes y sábados de 10:00-14:00 y de 15:00-18:00 y domingos de 10:00-14:00; el horario los meses de abril, mayo, junio y septiembre es de viernes y sábados de 10:00-14:00 y de 15:00-19:00, y los domingos de 10:00-14:00; los meses de julio el horario es de viernes y sábados de 10:00-14:00 y de 16:00-20:00, los domingos de 10:00-14:00 y los meses de agosto es de miércoles a sábados de 10:00-14:00 y de 16:00-20:00 y domingos de 10:00-14:00. Entrada 2€, hay entradas reducidas.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

We can admire above all the structures of a Roman dam of 150 meters (492 ft) length with solid buttresses, water regulation chests and already in the city the castellum aquae, or deposit of reception of the water; where we will see streets, houses, and thermal baths. The site also has a small museum. The chronology of Andelos site is basically Roman; especially between end of 1 st century and end of 2 nd century AD.

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

Winter timetable (October-March) is Friday to Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm; and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm; the timetable for the months of April, May, June and September is Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm; and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. In July the timetable are Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm; on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm; and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. General rate € 2, there are reduced tickets.

Por la A-12 (Pamplona-Logroño) puede accederse a Puente la Reina y Eunate.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS :

Hay un escalón en el acceso (Nuestra Sª. de Eunate); muchas escaleras en Olite.

Acceso factible en los monumentos de Puente la Reina (Puente, e iglesia de Santiago) y un pequeño escalón en San Pedro.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED :

There is a step in the access (Nuestra. Señora de Eunate); many stairs in Olite.

Feasible access in the monuments of Puente la reina (Bridge, Santiago) and a small step in San Pedro.
